‘Started From the Bottom’ beau Drake started a polarizing war of fans last year when he revealed plans of creating a posthumous album filled with some of the late R&B singer Aaliyah‘s unreleased tracks.

Earning a collective thumbs down from those closest to the fallen star (see: Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Ginuwine, her family), the Torontoian rapper was still set to forge ahead with the project as Aaliyah’s label (run by uncle Barry Hankerson) did offer their approval.

Continued negative public reaction to the album – as recent as last month – had the album’s primary producer Noah “40” Shebib on the fence so much so that he, according to a recent interview with VIBE magazine, has called for Drake to halt the project…indefinitely.

“I was seven songs deep.  [Aaliyah’s] mother saying, “I don’t want this out’ was enough for me. I walked away very quickly.” – Noah Shebib

Respected and admired for calm manner and even cooler music, the last decade has seen Ciara navigate her way through the industry without facing the drama and scandal that keeps so many of her rivals glued to headlines.

Indeed, save for a number of well publicised bumps in her career’s road, the star’s personal image stands just as clean today as it was during her debut.

So, perhaps with her efforts to keep it ‘all about the music’ in mind, the mild mannered maestra penned an open letter to the world yesterday, questioning the impact social media has on those the world deems easy targets, urging fans to steer clear of the negativity that currently overshadows the art form she loves so much.

Though we’d say Janelle Monae’s ‘The Electric Lady’ deserves it more, there’s no doubt Ciara‘s self titled new LP stands a strong chance of picking up the ‘Best R&B Album’ award at the 54th Annual Grammys next year.

Indeed, if nominated in the category would be sure to benefit from the press doing so would garner and push its sales to higher ground- handing the project a fresh pair of promotional legs.

However, before that happens, creatives from across the globe have taken to YouTube in their thousands to celebrate the LP’s strongest Pop number, ‘Overdose‘- well before the release of its supporting music video!

Not sure why Camp Ciara would be crazy to drop the ball on its promotion?
