Pop icon Janet Jackson is back and this time she’s brought Daddy Yankee along for the ride.

Calling on the singer/rapper for her new single ‘Made For Now,’ the Harmony Samuels-produced tune is believed to the be the first of a line of gems found aboard the follow-up to Jackson’s 2015 chart-topping album, ‘Unbreakable.’

Tapping veteran music video director Dave Meyers to help its accompanying clip, the Afro-inspired song now comes to life in a colorful clip that accents its feelgood nature in ways fans will undoubtedly be most pleased with. On the 41st anniversary of the death of King of Rock N’ Roll Elvis Presley, August 16th claimed yet another musical monarch:  Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

The 76-year-old music icon succumbed to pancreatic cancer today after a longstanding bout with the disease and the announcement has left her legion of fans, admirers, and the immeasurable league of musicians she’s influenced devastated in its wake.

Some of the latter took to social media to express their grief and gratitude to the R&B potentate.  With top names like fellow legendary divas Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion to today’s female R&B and soul  leaders Fantasia, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Monica, Adele and more sending their condolences, see their words inside:

With Nicki Minaj declaring her ‘Queen’-dom on her new album, it’s naturally sparked debate and discussion surrounding the other ladies populating the female rap landscape.

Specifically Cardi B and Remy Ma – two names Onika has clashed with in recent times.

During the latest instalment of Queen Radio on Apple Music, co-host Ebro quizzed her on the matter.

He said:

“I never saw you and Remy heading in this path. I never saw that. I never saw you and Cardi headed in this path. I never saw that,” he said during the broadcast. “And do you believe these things are fixable? Because women in rap are having a time right now…”

Only hours separate members of Janet Jackson‘s beloved fan base, affectionately called #Janfam, and new music from the pop potentate.

As if anticipation wasn’t already at a feverish pitch, the Grammy-winning icon took to Instagram to shift that excitement into overdrive by teasing the official video for her new single, the Daddy Yankee-assisted ‘Made For Now.’

Following this morning’s announcement of the passing of Aretha Franklin (click here to read), the outpouring of grief has seen fans open their hearts and wallets – a move that sees the music monarch’s biggest hits dominate the current iTunes sales charts.

Pushing the likes of Drake‘s megahit ‘In My Feelings,’ Cardi B‘s ‘I Like It,’ and more of the day’s top hits aside, Franklin’s most memorable numbers – ‘Respect,’ ‘(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman,’ and ‘Chain of Fools’ are just a few of the titles that are topping the tally (as of time reported).
