Just when it seemed ‘Single Ladies’ singer Beyonce would be left alone to find (and fund) security efforts for her forthcoming ‘Formation’ stadium tour, a few US cities are standing up for the Grammy winner, vowing to provide detail when the trek visits their respective locations.

While Tampa, FL was first to make headlines when their police department took to Twitter to slam rumors of their intent to boycott, it appears Raleigh, NC and Arlington, TX are now in agreement with the decision.  They join a number of police officials – especially black police unions – who are calling out boycotters for discriminatory behavior.

Some may argue Rihanna will never be a legend, but at the rate she’s meeting or surpassing the records of her legendary predecessors, the history books will argue otherwise.

For, despite shortcomings on the Billboard 200 side of charts, her 11 year career has seen her equal or eclipse many-a-Hot 100 record of pop music’s royalty (Whitney Houston, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, etc).  In fact, those who need a refresher should traipse with us down memory lane for a few highlights:

2010s

As of time reporting, Rihanna is the only female artist of color to top Hot 100 this decade

2011

Rihanna outraces Madonna for most top 10 singles amassed in shortest period of time

2013

Rihanna surpasses Whitney Houston‘s Hot 100 top 10 record

2016

Rihanna ties Janet Jackson & Mariah Carey‘s top 10 record

Now, it appears the ‘Diamonds’ diva has her sights set on the Hot 100 crowns of King of Pop Michael Jackson.  With the ascension of her (not Drake‘s) latest tune ‘Work’ to the tally’s perch, the songbird is just one #1 hit away from breaking two of his prized records.

Christina Aguilera is sharing her gift with the world…online.

Yes, the ‘Marmalade’ spreading diva has teamed up with good people over at ‘Masterclass‘ to deliver an online vocal lesson for aspiring singers which sees her reveal the tricks behind her Grammy winning trade.

I met the people involved and I really felt confident that this is such a positive and great thing to do to allow people to have access to. It’s a class or courses being taught by the greats in what they do, in the fields they’ve been successful in. Allowing yourself the time to explore your passion is amazing. And at a great price. My experience with The Voice has also helped lead me to this place.

We’re sold.

As evidenced at last night’s BRITs, Rihanna has recovered from the “bronchitis” which caused her to sit out the Grammy Awards.

So much so that the jaunt, which has been plagued by reports of so-so sales, is now selling tickets at a radically discounted rate.
