If Camp Mariah Carey opts to go ahead with the star’s May 6th album release date, the only fate the LP can be sure to face is…disaster.

A little dramatic? Perhaps. However, after watching its latest first single slip and slide out of iTunes Top 400 after a week of release, her team is now faced with the mammoth task of convincing the general public to purchase the Def Jam-backed piece.

Problematic, considering the difficulty they’ve had moving all of its singles, save for the ‘Clear Channel‘- pushed ‘Beautiful.’

Now, as if its iTunes run didn’t give Universal enough cause to rethink their strategy, today has seen  ‘Mine’ make its Billboard Hot 100 debut.

Where it charted?

‘Tasty’ temptress Kelis is looking to give fans something new to taste as she serves up new music alongside a new foray into television.

Indeed, with her 6th studio album “FOOD” set to blast onto the scene on the heels of its first single and video “Jerk Ribs,” Kelis is looking to turn this reignited buzz to boil with a new show on the Cooking Channel called ‘Saucy and Sweet’.

“The show, called “Saucy and Sweet,” will premiere on the channel Feb. 26 and will feature the singer’s culinary creations — “food with attitude,”.

Her foray into TV precedes Kelis’ “FOOD” album, which is due April 21 as her first release on indie label Ninja Tune. Produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, the album exudes its culinary theme in the tracklist, with “Jerk Ribs” joined by “Breakfast,” “Cobbler,” “Fish Fry” and “Biscuits ‘n’ Gravy.”

“Saucy and Sweet”, which will air at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesdays exclusively on The Cooking Channel, will see the ‘Milkshake’ singer give a bit more to bring the boys to the yard.

One month after welcoming ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star Donal Logue to its cast, FOX‘s forthcoming series ‘Gotham’ has welcomed Jada Pinkett Smith to its line up this year, enlisting the actress to serve as one its villains.

Based on DC characters from Bob Kane‘s ‘Batman’, the series will explore the genesis of Commissioner James Gordon, set to be introduced as a charismatic rookie detective living in a crime-ridden Gotham City.

Called on to portray sadistic thug ‘Fish Mooney‘, Jada‘s role will place her alongside ‘Blue Juice’ actor Sean Pertwee and ‘All Good Things’ actress Zabryna Guevara, who signed up to play Sarah Essen Gordon, first introduced in ‘Batman #405.’
