Those who have already grown weary of news on Beyonce‘s fifth album should prepare themselves for yet another headache.  For, in news that surfaced just moment’s ago, the singer’s self-titled effort has cemented itself as her biggest first week seller with sales set to exceed 600,000.

Yes, the aforementioned was already projected, but industry insiders have already confirmed that 550,000 of those digital items have already been sold.  A feat that sees her top the first week sales of her 2006 effort ‘BDay’ (which debuted to the tune of 541,000 units sold in the first week).

As if that’s not enough, the movement has assured the songstress her fifth consecutive reign atop Billboard 200 – a first for any female singer to see her first five albums debut at number #1.

As their former manager Pebbles continues to fight allegations addressed here, R&B force TLC have scored fresh support from fellow hit-maker Kandi Burruss this week, a close friend and one time competitor of the group’s remaining members.

Indeed, weeks after witnessing the group’s VH1 fuelled bio-pic, Burruss has now revealed that her group Xscape faced the same contractual trouble by way of unfair contracts allegedly designed to cheat them out of their money.

One or the other.

When it comes to acknowledging one’s sexuality and embracing one’s power, women are oft encouraged to choose one or the other- a choice rooted in the idea that an empowered woman must be an asexual one.

An idea, that believes a woman’s sexuality is only ever relevant when used to attract and appease men, rendering any woman who dares to embrace her desire for male ‘company’ weak…docile…’a whore.’

So, it should come as no surprise that Pop superstar Beyonce finds herself on the receiving end of such criticism today, following the unveiling of her brand new visual album, jam packed with a collection of steamy videos that’s set some pulses racing and many a tongue wagging this week.

The ‘NRJ Music Awards‘ may have had the best of intentions when enlisting Katy Perry to perform at this year’s ceremony, but- perhaps unaware of her on/off performance prowess- they got far less than they bargained for once she hit the stage.
