On Friday (August 28), an official representative for ‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman announced he had died after a 4-year battle with colon cancer (as we reported here).

Sending shockwaves across the industry, his fans rushed to social media to extend their condolences.  Among the late 43-year-old’s admirers and supporters were celebrities – some of whom shared screen time with the highly revered, award-winning actor.

Just three months after raising $128 million for the fight against COVID-19 with the Lady Gaga-curated ‘One World:  Together at Home’ special (click here to read more), Global Citizen is looking for a redo by assembling even more of music’s biggest names to come together for the cause.

This time placing focus on communities that are disproportionately impacted by the pandemic (namely people of color, people facing discrimination, and the less fortunate), the event – titled ‘Global Goal:  Unite for Our Future – the Concert’ – comes as a partnership with the European Commission and will be globally televised and digitally streamed.

As we reported here, Memorial Day 2020 was the original slated premiere date for National Geographic’s ‘Genius: Aretha’ – a four-night miniseries dedicated to the life and times of Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

Designed to “explore Franklin’s musical genius, incomparable career, and the immeasurable impact and lasting influence she has had on music and culture around the world,” the anthology installment was set to be the first-ever authorized limited series about the musical monarch.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, however, the network’s announced a change of plans.

Aretha fans who were looking to catch the made-for-TV flick on their screens tonight (May 25) will have to wait just a little longer:

As we reported here last week, Disney is breathing new life into its classic animated feature ‘Hercules.’

Having strong-armed the box office competition upon its 1997 release (to the tune of over $252 million grossed world wide), there are undoubtedly great expectations for its soon-to-come live action remake.

And, while the re-adaptation’s official cast has yet to be announced, fans of the original have already begun throwing in the names of modern day favorites to fill the shoes of the main hero and other memorable characters from the film.

With a focal part of ‘Herc’s story being the narration by the Gospel-flavored Muses, That Grape Juice has assembled the top 10 ladies we at least want to be part of the conversation when Disney considers who should don their iconic white gowns.

Gregory McMichael and his son Travis (of Brunswick, Georgia) are at the center of national outrage after they killed Ahmaud Arbery – a 25-year-old Black man – after a racially motivated confrontation.

Despite the incident occurring over two months ago, the father-son duo remained unaffected until their arrests on May 7 (as we reported here) led to charges of murder and aggravated assault.

As the Georgia Bureau of Investigations has announced intent to investigate the man responsible for filming the incident as well, the general public – including celebrities – continue to use their voices to shed light on the crime.

Not even two weeks after ABC’s ‘Disney Family Singalong’ assembled Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, and more of the biggest names in music and entertainment to rock TV ratings (as we reported here), the network is readying a redo.

Titled ‘Disney Family Singalong II,’ the TV special will corral even more big names to put their special twists on Disney classics.
