“After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. let’s face it, kelly doesn’t have the star power or the appeal that beyonce has. kelly had a huge hit with dilemma (because of the that, columbia pushed DIL back so simply deep could be released first) and she still barely pushed gold in the U.S. and barely pushed 2mil worldwide. that’s not mathew’s fault, there’s just not enough people interested in kelly rowland unless it’s with destiny’s child. furthermore, i thought columbia paid for the promotion and not mathew knowles. kelly hasn’t proven to them that she can return a profit if they invest in her. look at beyonce, b’day was sliding down the charts when she went on that one month vacation and after the success of irreplaceable, she KNEW that the album was not done. when the label denied her anymore videos and money for the project, she took her own damn money and re-released the ish (in spanish too) and made an entire video anthology. she PROVED to her label that with or without them, she’ll prosper and sell out tours all over the world. kelly needs to prove to people that she’s worth the investment. i mean look how much time she has spent overseas and the album still hasn’t gotten any major play worldwide. solange had a ton of promotion because of geffen and people still didn’t buy her ish, same with PCD, brandy, and ashanti. sometimes, when people aren’t interested in you, they are not interested. it doesn’t have anything to do with mathew knowles holding her back because mathew would be an idiot to invest in something all these years that wasn’t successful. you don’t think he wants more than ONE successful act under his guidance? some people need to get a grip and i hope when the album drops, you put your money where your mouth is.

Anyway, I’ll just reserve my thoughts about Kelly’s future until I see what she has in store for her next album. I think she has potential, but the issue is she still needss to work on her weaknesses (vocals, live performances) and utilize that potential. But breaking away from Matthew Knowles is definitely the first step if she wants any chance of success. She was just at stand still under him. A lof the work she was doing for the Ms. Kelly album was in vain.
For whatever the decision was made to split . . . I wish her much success . . . I love her voice . . . and she is talented . . . but I would like to see her do more acting . . . . she has been good in this things she has appeared in thus far . . . . Someone mentioned that another DC album would be out of the question . . . not really because the bottom line is money and the fans are asking for it . . . so why not make that money . . .

In the beginning, Kelly DID have HUGE anticipators in the U.S. on her solo cd, which was poorly pieced-together in the U.S. market, and she still went Gold. Once the sealed her commitment to The Knowle, the general respect in the U.S. left. I think she will get it back again.

This HAD to be hard for her being that show grew up in the Knowles house, but it was a smart and brave move.
This is a milestone for Kelly. She’s finally leaving the nest. This is good because now people will be eager to see what she does apart from Matthew and Music World. First order of business: Release at least two singles(worldwide)BEFORE the third album hits shelves. Second: AGGRESSIVELY persue a COVER SHOT AND SPREAD with Essence,Ebony,Elle and Allure Magazine(stateside). She has NEVER been on the cover of any of these magazines;I’m baffled as to why. Third: Promote your new T.V. show in CONJUNCTION with your album. Fourth:An endorsement deal(or two)wouldn’t hurt. She’d be perfect for a cosmetics line or she could be a designers muse. Fifth and lastly: On the promo trail,make sure you are interviewed by(and able to perform on)Oprah,Ellen and The View. Kelly needs to be exposed to a broader audience(stateside). No more settling for the urban market because you know they don’t buy $#!*. As far as your album goes, make it even more appealing by releasing extra media. Maybe a ‘Behind the Album’ DVD or a Videography DVD featuring EVERY video you’ve ever made,plus a surprise bonus,the video for your albums third single. Now that would be hot. Instead of premiering the video on T.V. or on the web,package it with your CD so that the people who actually BUY your album get first look at and first listen to the third single off your album. Now that has NEVER been done before. There are so many ways to market yourself Kelly but you may have to come out of pocket to do it. Question is;Do you want it bad enough? I believe you do otherwise you wouldn’t have left Matthew. Now it’s time to show and prove. Make EVERYONE see you in a different light. Too bad I’m not apart of your production/blitz team. I could really hook you up. I’m just oozing ideas. I could even write a song for you(really,I’m a beast with a lyric). It’s a God given gift. For all those saying Matthew Knowles and Beyonce are not responsible for holding Kelly back you are absolutely wrong. She would have been a much bigger star if it were not for Matthew making her promotional budget low, only finding her second rate album tracks, etc.
For example, right before B’Day came out, Check on It was supposed to have been recorded by Destiny’s Child and instead they put Beyonce’s name on the track even though Kelly sings the entire second verse.
While many can say Kelly is only a backup singer from Destiny’s Child, she still is talented and deserves a chance to have solo success without being held back by her own management.
If u don’t have a manager and team behind u who truely believe in u then ur carrer is going 2 go nowhere. It’s obvious who he gives most of the attention 2. If Kelly and her team had pushed the proper singles and gotten better promotion theres no wa6y in hell that she wouldn’t have done more than go go gold in the US with Ms.Kelly. I don’t know how many times I(‘ve played tracks off of that album n peeps was feelin it n wonderin why they never heard of the song. Songs like Love, Still In Love With My X, N addicted were the s*** N even comeback, which I must say is one of if not THE best video she ever shot never seen the light of day on a video channel in the US. Ghetto was pulled before it could even impact. So gimme that b******* about no interest. People R waiting 4 her 2 step up n do what we Know she’s capable of n She ain’t gonna be able 2 do that as long as she under Daddy Knowles. No Artist does it alone. They don’t push her singles @ radio n Only 2 videos were ever seen from the project. N the Videos 4 Work n comeback were filmed in July of 07 but never were released then a video was filmed 4 ghetto and released almost 4 months later when now a days most artist release two singles before the album even drop. I totally hope Kelly makes it. I think she has a lot of talent. She seems like a nice girl. But… she let the Knowles’ family use her. That’s pretty obvious, but now she has left the management of Mathew Knowles. Which is great. He only cared about Beyonce not even Solange. he is and was definitely picking favorites. Which isn’t fair. But some people are unfair.

I’m very happy that Kelly is finally leaving the Knowles clan. Ms Kelly was a great album but there was no promotion for it. I can still listen to her cd all the way thru.
