The first single from singer/song-writer The-Dream‘s 3rd (and supposedly final) LP ‘Love King’ surfaced a few minutes ago. Also titled, ‘Love King’, the song finds the hit-maker in familiar territory with its witty lyrics, numerous catchy hooks, and playful production (courtesy of L.O.S Da Mystro)
Though a decent effort, the fact that the song would not sound out of place on either of his previous album’s (2007′s ‘Love Hate’ and 2009′s ’Love vs Money’), highlights a lack of artistic progression – if this is a taste of what the rest of his record will be serving up. While, I, for the most part, enjoy Dream’s offerings and his ‘trademark’, it’s somewhat problematic when much of your material sounds the same – despite there being a 3-4 year gap between when they were released. Still, I’m sure radio will eat this up. Take from that what you will…

Song is catchy as fuck! lol But he wont get a Grammy nod for this. Lol But damn is catchy Radios will eat this up.
And I bet this wont be his last album. he prob said that because he was pissy about not getting a Grammy nod this year, and trying to scare the board into nominating him this time. Like they really care lol.

I just hate The Dreams overall Style all together, His 1st album was Cool, Not Bad at All But his 2nd Was poor & in my opinion a lot less fire & a lot more bland mediocrity. It gets Annoying after a while hearing the same ole ‘radio killa’ /’American Dream’ Gimmicks. & he really thinks he can sick with that lame Vocalizer mess. His Music is BULLSHIT just like Mariahs. His kind of Music makes my Headache feel worst & feel more Sick. ==>>

I love the dream as a writer, not singer cuz the truth is he can’t LOL BUT ALL his songs are starting to sound like the same song with a different hook. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz I fell asleep midway through the song HOWEVER being it is that I live in America and I have cousins who I deem ‘ghetto’ they’ll jump on the song if they like the beat and the hook soooo…. but no Grammy’s boo… you need to evolve a little bit
