It has literally just been announced that Usher, Alicia Keys, Eminem, and T-Pain, will be taking to the stage at the 2010 BET Awards.
They join previously announced performers for the June 27th event Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Drake, Kanye West, Rick Ross, and Diddy-Dirty Money.
It certainly appears as though BET left the best performer announcements till last, as prior to now, the line-up was looking a little thin on interesting live acts.
Randomness: Does anyone else agree that the BET Awards being good generally depends on whether Beyonce is on the bill? Be it by coincidence or not, but I’ve noticed the show is usually the business when she takes to the stage (excluding last year’s atrocity of an MJ tribute show). Just saying…

BET has gotten so damm boring. Last year was horrible. What happened to all the great performers they use to have that would keep you talking about it for months. Instead they had to use the automatic clapping sound because the crowd was so bored. Usher is ok and Drake I love his music. But for Drake singing live, I don’t know about that. And those others are questionable.

BET has been extremely shady with Ciara for a couple years now I’ve noticed. She was only there last year because of the MJ tribute(which sucked btw) and she performed 2 years ago because of Chris Brown and Nelly.

I disagree, the show can be great without her. That is the problem I have addressed with BET on their blog already, they build the show around her too much. She has performed on that show more than any other female artist. They could leave her off, but they could add in Monica, Sade, and Rihanna to mixture in the show, because as of right now, the performance roster is looking too ghetto. I don’t expect Alica Keys to do a huge performance because she is pregnant, so they will probably use her for the Prince tribute.
I remember last year when the Jackson family wanted Chris to do the trubite for MJ. Jay-Z told BET if Chris perfroming him and Beyonce will not be there. Well they did not get Chris because of Jay-Z and the show was a flop. Nothing in the show that would make you say wow! nothing. You are going to see the same people in the first three rows that is always there.
Someone said something about Em & Rihanna, well Bluekid is right Rihanna should not have made a song with him being she said she was abused. And the world knows that Em beat his wife to a point he almost killed her. And for them to perfom together is not cool.

The BET Awards staff needs 2 have more entertainers 2 perform… They need some more R&B singers & dancers… Someone that can give you a PERFORMANCE. Glad to see so much support here for a CHRIS BROWN appearance. It would make the show sizzle, and he really really deserves it. And it makes such sense for him to do MJ tribute – nothing is as close to classic MJ as Chris Brown. But CB has his own special charisma – its just such a win-win, no brainer.
