Chris Brown‘s comeback bid was given a mammoth boost this week, after it was announced that the 21 year old had signed a lucrative deal with the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) – the world’s leasing sports and entertainment agency. The deal will see Brown represented by the powerful firm in all areas.

Brown, a five-time Grammy nominee and three-time American Music Award winner, has sold more than six million albums worldwide. His self-titled debut album was certified double-platinum and featured the smash hit “Run It!” and included two top ten hits, “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” and “Gimme That.” His follow up album, the platinum Exclusive, ranked as one of the biggest-selling albums of 2008, with more than three million copies sold worldwide. Brown’s most recent release, Graffiti, debuted in 2009 and marked his third consecutive top ten debut.

I don’t understand why fans even want to label Chris as the next MJ. Yes, MJ was and still is the biggest superstar in the world but he was known for his originality. He was his own person. And Chris should be his own person. And his fans should see him as such. Yes, he does tributes to MJ but he has his own signature traits (such as his height and flexibility, his quirky fashion sense, that 360° jump he does in the air lol, etc.)
And, to hope that he gets an Oscar for his role in “Takers” is wishful thinking. Will Smith is well known for his role in action films (“Hancock”, “I Am Legend”, “I, Robot”, “Independence Day”, etc.) yet the last time he was nominated for an Oscar was “Ali”, which was released 10 years ago.
(Let me say something positive before someone labels me as a fake fan lol.) I hope he releases “12 Strands” soon ’cause it’s been damn near a month since the trailer was released and I’ve been waiting in anticipation since. And I’ve heard really good reviews about his role in Takers, especially the chase scene that we’ve seen in the previews. I won 2 tickets to watch the movie next Sunday at a screening here in New York, but I think I’ll see it again when it is released in theatres worldwide; I want to support our boy :).

This is really good for him, CAA does represent some big celebrities. About Lindsay Lohan, remember a few years ago even in the throws of her drug use, she was still getting and STARRING in major movies ( most flopped, but she still was scoring these roles). Alot of this showbiz thing is about who you know and making the right connections, hopefully this is very lucrative and successful for Chris.

R.Kelly in his 20 years of the music business only had ONE poorly selling album. In spite of his personal shortcomings, R. Kelly is musically a MONSTER as a songwriter and singer. He can SING better than many of the artists you guys like to threw around: Beyonce (yeah, I said it), Rihanna, Chris Brown (and I’m a fan of his), Usher, Trey Songz, etc. He has a diversity of songs that range from sexually-motivated, spiritually impactful, motivational, and just feel good music. Mind you I am not a big R.Kelly fan but I know that his musical footprint is all over the 90s and 2000s either by way as a singer or songwriter.

Even if he does small independent movies, he can seriously become a better actor. Also keep doing music….songwriting, singing, performing when possible. Toilet paper mags like Rolling Stone lying about not being about to review his CD due to a fight he had with Rihanna….WTF? Yes but she re-released that GGGB CD 4 or 5 different times over the course of how many years? If you constantly re-release a CD and add things that the audience who initially passed up on the CD the 1st go around now likes then you too can sell 8 million copies of one CD! See how it works?

Also some stores had store managers who refused to re-stock the album after the first 10 copies sold on the floor. But again, people are stupid if you are going to let a freggin magazine tell you which albums to like. The critics who were able to steer away from mentioning CB’s personal life gave Graffiti either an A- or B. I think it’s seriously better than Exclusive.
If Graffiti could be remastered I would keep at least 13 of the original songs from the Deluxe Edition and then use a few songs off the mixtapes.

Really, Halle Berry won an Oscar for…. Monsters Ball, of all the movies that she has performed in…. If chris did not have A-List qualiity CAA would not be checking for him. Even Lindsey Lohan is part of the agency b/c she is a good actress but she keeps f****** herself up with the drugs. You can have a great team around u but ure still in control of your destiny. I think Chris has been doing a good job for himself he’s very focus he just need a good team around him and he finally got the best. I really think u should not be worrying about Chris cause Lady Gaga is coming for your girl.
