I like some of the songs! My main problem is that she has mixed R&B with techno-type up-tempos and they should have been urban up-tempos. They techno type stuff really ruins the flow.
how people tell if they like a song without even hear the second verse .. anyway Im buying the cd next week! okay god knows I love my girl kelly (all my DC ladies) and the success of motivation has made me a proud parent but I need to be real here .. I’m really feelin the album actually a lot but I feel like a major first week dissapointment is coming .. Her US promotion has been terrible the only thing I kno of is a jay leno appearance two days after the release!! this week (its literally 7 days away) she should be on every morning show, her team should try and put together a lil tv special, radio interviews, blog site interviews I mean everything .. I don’t think they are capitilizing on what could have been (who knows maybe still will be) a huge time for kellys album. I will say I do hear a few tracks with legs and if she gets it together the album can still sell steadily B*** I really did want that 150000-200000K first week and that’s just not lookin likely =(

There is literally no hype surrounding this album…you would think that after all the time (years to be exact) that this chick and her label spent prepping this album that they would actually have their shyte together by now. I think it is time to except the fact that if people such as Monica, Brandy are not pushing lots of albums nowadays there is no way that Kelly Rowland (who many consider as a background singer) will ever be big. She will never headline an arena tour…she will never debut @ or reach #1 on the top 100 (stans should not even mention the R&B chart – I think we have all established that R&B is now irrelevant).

I agree with @Karla I pre-ordered the deluxe album on iTunes last night and still plan on buying copies next tuesday! I’m never a stan for any artist except the late great Aaliyah but i’m mainly just someone who loves good music from a good artist! Ms. Rowland has been working her ass off these last couple of years and everyone who’s cheering her on need to go support her and buy the album.

As a fan, it is depressing to see the seemingly lack of promotion not even by the label but Kelly herself. This album is the defining moment of her career but she and her team are in lala land when it comes to pushing the album. One thing we can be sure about when it comes to kelly Rowland is being comfortable and she is doing exactly just that. You have got to want it so bad and no matter how much we her fans want it for her it is not going to happen until she has the same go getter attitude. She is just too nice and I think easily impressed. When I saw the album cover, I just shook my head like how the hell could she have chosen such an un impressionable cover that does not set the tone at all for the album. She could have left this cover in the simply deep era and gone for some thing that was diva and visually stunning. But oh well, back to my point. I can’t blame the label this time, today artist need to know how to handle things themselves. It does not take much to set up interviews with Perez, Nicole, Concreteloop, TheYBF, ThatGrape juice, and also have your face plastered all over their site, atleast one week to your album release. Stop going to parties we don’t care for, chilling on the beach (like you got this-no you don’t) + u got time for that after the album, hanging out with people who can’t even throw you a few twitter lines about your album, shouting out other people’s projects instead of hyping yours and the lists of no nos goes on. instead stay up granting radio interviews wherever you are; during xfactor lunch breaks or hell rest room breaks. I wanted to like this, but now that I hear more of the tracks that I thought I’d like before ( Work it Man, Feeling Myself Tonight, Turn it Up) I’m actually a tad disappointed. Kelly loses some energy mid way through some of these songs. It comes off much weaker than I expected. Now, I’m back to wondering if Motivation is her strongest and most consistent track. She goes from these passionate Bey like vocals to Brandy’s calm, soothing sound, but lacks the ability to sound convincing (as they both do) the entire time. This isn’t hate! I’m just being honest. It doesn’t fully keep my attention, like I hoped – but I think Kelly will still do her best with this era. I wish her luck!

Was motivation a success out of luck or are people really checking out for kelly? Her album sales would tell. I personally think motivation was luck because she released 3 failed singles from this album and they tanked.

2 those of u who say she sounds better doing dance music I completely disagree. In order 4 her 2 be successful here in the U.S. We do not want 2 see or hear a dance pop Kelly Rowland.
