As previously reported, MTV introduced performance polls this year to honor its past best performances. With categories like ‘Most Iconic VMA Performance’, ‘Best Pop Performance’, etc., the polls were met with mixed reviews due to the absence and/or under-representation of some of music’s most praised acts (in certain categories).
Though originally said to be announced in the moments leading into the awards’ 28th annual showing on Sunday, MTV is ready to whet a few appetites by unveiling what fans voted as the ‘Best VMA Performance Ever’.

I agree with most of the list. It compiles very iconic performances that are continuously linked with the show. Even though I think the most obvious omission is Madonna’s performance of Like a Virgin, the very first. Also how come Rihanna have a place there? That performance is incredibly forgettable.
Anyway… can’t wait for the VMAs this Sunday.

These performances were the most memorable and liked I will say…
All my favs made the list (Madonna, Britney, Rihanna) so *yay, mini-clap* for that.
But yea I remember the year Britney opened the VMA’s and Rihanna performed right after…I got my LIFE. That performance was everything, reminded me of Madonna, and the Seven Nation Army addition to it was perfection!

All MTV could reveal is their lack of credibility… The polls have been taken by cheaters (specially a Michael Jackson’s chinese forum fans) who auto voted by vote robot software. Enaugh evidence was sent to them since the beginning of the poll, yet they did nothing all along. Guess that corporate deals are more worthy for them than music lovers opinion… Yet, I think they will find out than opening a poll to mocking people is not that clever a thing to do.
