I dint follow her career much in the 90s but in the noughties MJB is not that prominent outside the US, certaintly not to the level of the likes of Celine, Mariah, Whitney or Janet. Her last big one here in Europe was be cant be without u from 2005. Even when sje teamed up w/ heavyweights U2 and hitmaker Jay Sean, the songs got minor airplay in UK. They still bump family affair though i’l give her that but u cant call ppl like MJ king of pop, Madonna Queen of pop and then MJB next to them, maybe queen of rnb in US only Mariah is better suited even though her 90s releases were moreso pop but whatever, none of these people have a plaque for these coveted titles anyways.

Lol this is funny. I just feel most people just don’t want to give her credit. The fact is she is a major force in the music business and does have respect.(unlike someone said up top). There are alot of artist on that list who have not written their own songs either, but somehow she is being criticized about it. Just be fair, she has worked her ass off to get where she is now and to discredit her isn’t a good thing. She has a great voice and have crafted it so much to the point where it’s unlike anyone else. Not saying its the best voice(because that’s all objectctive.), but she has crafted her instrument. Her vocal technique and chord arrangement is out of this world. She has studied various styles of music and theory behind music itself. People take her for being dumb, but she is very knowledgeable music wise. I believe she deserves this title.
