is it just me or did monica sing most of the song. either way it was nice just wish it was more evenly distriduted.

But it doesn’t matter because when she does sing, her adlibs and tone still the spotlight anyway. I also notice that Kelly made a conscious effort to say “Monica and Brandy” and not vice versa, like Robin did yesterday on GMA. Monica is making a serious effort to direct attention back her and her album and its obvious.

@Almond Joy, If it wasn’t for brandy doing this duet with Monica, “New Life” wouldn’t be getting half the shine it is getting. “Until its gone” is a good ballad, but radio was not feeling it. Monica’s album was already being pushed back. It wasn’t until the hype around “it all belongs to me” , that people got interested in Monica again, so if anything, yall Monica stans should be thanking brandy for giving your girl a boost.
@EdwardPonton – I noticed that Brandy’s parts are slowly disappearing. It’s getting a little ridiculous to me. What’s the whole point of this? Anyone that finds the song appealing for the first time will hear it in it’s entirety if they get the single from Itunes. SMH.
@Nyla – I noticed Kelly did that too. It was actually weird hearing their names that way. I swear these minor details their paying attention to are getting a little petty. Then again, that’s in Mo’s dna! Brandy won’t get this same support once 2/11 drops, she’ll be on to another single.

On the original version, it feels like a Brandy song featuring Monica. I assume because Monica’s album is dropping that she took the lead this time. I hope they both make solid comebacks.

@ PAT, I agree, doubt Monica would do the same for Brandy. @ LOUMORGAN, by the time Brandy’s album comes out the song will be old and forgotten. The timing and performances benefit Monica more than Brandy.
@POPEATER, I disagree. IMO the original (studio recorded) version sounds like a 50/50 duet or close enough. Don’t think anyone significantly dominated over the other in the original.
@EdwardPonton I think the reason why Monica is doing most of the singing, because it’s her time of promotion since this is her first single and her album came out, so they’re promoting Monica.. If Brandy had came out 1st, then Brandy would had done the most singing, but that is not the case. Monica album out now, so Monica does all the singing, even tho I preferred Brandy, but hey that’s just me..
