Lil Mo Slams Spike Lee Over Chrisette Michele Diss

Published: Saturday 21st Jan 2017 by Sam

As hot topics go, few get hotter than Chrisette Michele and her decision to perform at the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

And we mean that literally.

The R&B singer was lit up on social media by many angry that she entertained the offer (and check) to

A number of notable names joined the roast, including The Roots star QuestLove (who offered to pay Michele not to perform) and filmmaker Spike Lee – who snatched her song ‘Black Girl Magic’ from a documentary he’s making.

And while most of said response was received with an approving nod from the masses, Michele’s former ‘R&B Divas: LA’ cast-mate Lil Mo is not impressed. Especially with Lee.

Full story below…

Speaking on her localised radio show, Mo critiqued the acclaimed director for voicing his stance.

She asserted that he should have kept his views to himself because – according to her – nobody cares. Continuing her rant, she added that he should have left Michele’s song in his production to attract viewers.

Peep the clip…

She then added on Instagram…

SPiKE LEE TRIED IT. He didn’t have to eem tweet what he tweeted. Keep that shit to ya self homie. What we not finna do is have open season on one female. And we NOT finna Keep letting these Weirdo actin black men disrespect black women and BULLY them and stop being extra cuz u in ya feelings. Some shit not eem cool or called for. There is a lack of respect in some of these deliveries. Be MAD but don’t be SLOPPY. So PLEASE Listen to my entertaining rant right fast as I proceed to let him have it since he tweeted that mess about @chrisettemichele !! Woo HOOOOO. You got the right one TUHDAY bruh ???

Between that atrocious spelling and clear courting of controversy, Mo is coming across all sorts of tacky.

Granted she’s entitled to her own opinion, the views she articulated here amount to word salad. Jumbled up nonsense that we’re not sure she even understands.

It even gonna give her non career having Ass the time of day by shading her. She don’t deserve the lint in my pockets. Desperate ass attention seeker ?

    • Noneyabusiness January 21, 2017

      Not even*

    • FAF January 21, 2017

Didn’t she try to twitter beef with prince cuz they made her move from his section at essence festival ????

      • Fancy BISH January 21, 2017

I never even knew about this because I would never think of putting ‘Prince and Lil Mo’ in the same SENTENCE, let alone Google search lol…but omg, Prince actually clapped back at Lil No! And, of course, Prince WON…is she crazy? She’s trying it with legends and all she had was Superwoman before Ashanti effectively was her kryptonite lol…and the only Superwoman I listen to is the classic one by Karyn White….thank you FAF

  2. Dustin January 21, 2017

Lil Mo better put down her Kyocera and hurry if she wants food for next week. Her neighborhood WIC is closing soon to join the march on Washington.

  3. Jeff January 21, 2017

I think it’s crazy how the same people who talk about Donald Trump for all of his antics are the same people who are blasting Chrisette for signing at the inauguration, we can’t do both.

    • Lisa January 22, 2017

with all due respect, i don’t understand your comment. the same people who slam donald chump SHOULD blast chrisette for tacitly co-signing his b******* by performing at his inauguration. why wouldn’t they? … of COURSE we can – and SHOULD – do both! can you please explain?

  4. Ajax January 21, 2017

LiL Mo who? I don’t know her… Have several seats ?

  5. meme January 21, 2017

I totally agree with her. After all it was darn performance. its not like she was co signing Trump. Heres the thing, like it or not, Trump is president. We can change that, so why everyone so mad after the fact. Half, if not all of these people mad at Chrisette don’t support her music either way. I wish someone would pay me 250k to come sing for them.

    • Fancy BISH January 21, 2017

I could hardly hear Michele…and when I did, she was kinda messing up the flow *Keyshia Cole voice* lol

    • Lisa January 22, 2017

with all due respect, meme, by performing for him and taking his money, you are indeed co-signing. would you feel the same if she performed at george zimmerman’s birthday party (trayvon) or at the baltimore policemen’s ball (freddie grey?) … all money ain’t good money, doll …

    • Greg January 22, 2017

Technically it is supporting him. People are mad because she is singing in front of a group of people that don’t respect her. She is singing for a man that belittles her ancestry, the struggles her parents with through. She is signing in front of people that would rather see her hanging from a tree, then to hear her voice. Yet, she says she is singing to build a bridge, open dialogue between people. When she know (hell we all know), that’s not the case. Where was she, and what was she doing before then?

  6. Fancy BISH January 21, 2017

Is that Lil Bro? Lil No? Lil Po? Lil So? Lil Go? lol

  7. Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

Nobody is checking for spike lee in 2017 anyway…

    • Fancy BISH January 21, 2017

Said no one ever lol…you ever heard of a masterpiece? Timeless classic?

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

What has he done of merit lately other than trash Tyler Perry?

    • BonBon January 21, 2017

Okay Ms. Beyonce…Jackson. Clearly you live in the world you’ve created in your head, and maybe there (where Beyonce is a Jackson) Spike Lee is also irrelevant. Hah

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

Girl I’m sure you would NOT have watched this documentary anyway. Exit stage left.

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 21, 2017

      You’re ignorant

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

About what? Please enlighten me instead of hurling insults, King Kunta of TGJ.

By the way, i wasn’t defending Chrisette, Lil Mo nor siding with Trump b***-hurt idiots. I was just saying.

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 21, 2017

I don’t give af! Spike Lee is a LEGEND. You sound like a moron but what else is new? #KingKunta✊✊✊

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

        Tyler bye. ??
You and other twitter bullies are dragging this girl (who most people have never even heard of) over performing alongside an unknown gospel artist. I don’t care about Spike being a legend. No one was gonna watch this Netflix documentary, just like they passed on the movies he’s created over the past decade.

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 21, 2017

Where tf have you been? Living under a damn rock? Spike Lee is one of the most influential screenwriters/directors of all time. His opinion matters! B**** I dont even have a twitter. You’re a disgrace.

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

B**** I don’t need to be educated on who Spike Lee is. I saw School Daze and Crooklyn ?
        You’re a disgrace and a bully. #AndThatsThat

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 21, 2017

You supposedly “know who he is” YET you think that no one’s checking for him ! No, noody’s checking for you h**. You deserve to be slapped with a bag of buckles bum biatch!

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

Spike has put out countless movies over the past decade. Which ones have you supported? Exactly. All he does is sit around and seethe about Tyler Perry’s success. #NotCheckingForHim
Now run along with your fake outrage and go argue with a rihanna stan b****.

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 21, 2017

Spike Lee is my favorite filmmaker right along with John Singleton. Idc if he never makes another movie in his life Do the Right Thing,Jungle Fever, School Daze, Crooklyn, and etc are CLASSICS! Shows how much you know! Stop assuming because you keep on making an ass outta yourself. Fake wannabe hive member trying to stir up trouble. You’re FIRED!

    • The Wig Snatcher January 21, 2017

Sis, you give me life in the comments section, but I can’t sit with your weak attempt at trolling. Sounds more logical like the people you stan for.

      • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

Girl twirl. I don’t troll. I said what I said. Don’t like it, take a dirt nap.?

  8. #TeamTinashe Stan January 21, 2017

“…. the views she articulated here amount to word salad. Jumbled up nonsense that we’re not sure she even understands.” Really Sam? LOL but forreal I think this is always the case with Lil Mo tho. HEHE!

The “Queen of Shade” needs to take a break and needs to go back to school. She hasn’t been impressing me since joining “R&B Divas”. The Breakfast Club revitalized her career with one of the most remembered strongest shade thrown(i,e Keri, Ashanti & that girl from G-Unit).
Anyways, I thought that she would address Spike Lee properly but she didn’t 🙁

  9. ? January 21, 2017

    Who?

  10. #TeamTinashe Stan January 21, 2017

Spike Lee should of stayed out of it. Who would wnt their music to be a part of anything especially with that stupid movie that he put out that was a complete disservice to the people in Chicago.

Anyways, just want to say Lil Mo’s first album is an underrated ICONIC R&B album.

  11. Meteorite January 21, 2017

Why didn’t anyone tell “Being Mary Jane” started?!

  12. GirlBye1 January 21, 2017

Didn’t Ashanti replace her in murder inc? ? Girl, bye!

    • #TeamTinashe Stan January 21, 2017

She was never ever a part of the group.

  13. Lake Erie January 21, 2017

Chrisette Michelle made her bed! O well lil Mo! And it’s a lot of people who cared enough to speak on her doing the performance not just him.. so that’s false. Chrisette should have outweighed the long term outcome versus the small short term income.. but she can still sing though.

  14. IKNOWTHETRUTH January 21, 2017

    WHO?

  15. B_Roni January 21, 2017

chrisette needs to drop some new music right now. I would if I was her.

  16. leveinard January 21, 2017

    Who?

  17. Jasmine January 21, 2017

Lil’ Mo is desperately trying to get attention by any means, including using Cassette Tape, to do it. Whatever happened to trying to sell music independently? I miss the days when artists went on radio shows to promote their music and upcoming concerts. At the end of the day Lil’ Mo left that radio interview with no promotion of anything she is working on.

  18. Justafan January 21, 2017

    So embarrassing for her…messy

  19. Ocean8 January 21, 2017

Yet the blogs aren’t dragging Travis Greene or the choir that where singing on the very same stage.

Regardless of right or wrong Travis should have been dragged as much as Chrisette

    • Beyoncé Jackson January 21, 2017

EXACTLY! Chrisette was not the only black person to grace the stage during the inauguration festivities. I saw an entire choir filled with black people performing on the National Mall. Selective outrage at its finest. I’m no Trump fan, but the lashings Chrisette has gotten are out of control.

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 21, 2017

Who tf is Travis Green? As far as im concerned , all of those no names are sell outs too

  20. Gee January 21, 2017

There she goes again sticking her nose where it does not belong Chrisette is a grown woman and knew the consequences before accepting the gig. Honestly Lil Mo should be worrying about how she going to feed her family and get her career back poping then trying to play defense attorney for her friend who sold out for some dirty money.

  21. 4everMo January 21, 2017

Y’all so mad but have never purchased a Chrisette Michelle album. I still love her music regardless.

  22. MUSICHEAD January 22, 2017

Lil Mo is right. When did it become ok to attack and bully people just because we disagree with them? Spike did go too far and although I don’t like the decision Cassette Michelle made, I will respectfully disagree with her.

    • Lisa January 22, 2017

so why cannot spike respectfully disagree by choosing not to use her music?

    • Lisa January 22, 2017

      and it’s chrisette, not cassette…IJS.

  23. LaLa January 22, 2017

This girl is so thirsty for a career. Girl bye! No one cares who you are!!

  24. Yolanda January 22, 2017

I totally agree with MO. Black men are giving Steve Harvey a pass because Steve (through his long legacy of sell-out-ness) has monopolized the black entertainment industry and now these black slow-po-mo-folks feel that they need to be on his radio/tv show for promotion. Yet, they are demonizing a female artist, who does not have a quarter of the money Steve does, for doing her trade to make a living. If anything, Steve does not need the money and he should not have stood next to Trump (and blamed it all on Obama.) (But hey, Steve’s been playing yall a long time, i.e, writing a book about a successful marriage and he’s been married 3 times and have not reached the 10-year mark yet with his third wife.) Yall thoopid!
