It seems the force that is Beyonce will serve as the focal point of the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. After leading the pack of nominees, with an impressive 10 nominations, it has now been confirmed that the 28 year old superstar will also be taking to the stage to perform at January 31st show. {Source}
As ever, Bouncy is sure to put on one hell of a show. It’ll be interesting to see what she performs, though…’Single Ladies’? ‘Halo’ (which is nominated most of all her noms)? Maybe even ‘Telephone’ with Lady GaGa, who as at then would be due to start promoting the single? Roll on Grammy weekend!

I personally will not be watching the Grammy’s this year because if this what I have to look forward to, than no thank you. The Grammy’s used to be a prestigious award honor musicians, not music video stars. It saddens me what music has become of today. The Grammy’s are a joke now and I will not take part in this fuckery!

Whitney’s jaded fans need to have a seat. Whitney barely won Grammys when she actually put out decent music, this latest CD of hers is her worst and is vocally horrid and you thought the Grammy committee were gonna throw nominations at her just because it’s her “comeback”? Please!! Bey’s gonna continue to put out music and dominate the scene and her taking a year off still is not gonna do anything to help your favorite flop artist get any shine. No one sat down for Beyonce, she took over by working hard and putting out great music and becoming the greatest performer of her generation. The funny thing is your favorite artist loves Bey (including Whitney) as does the industry so pissed off stans do not matter.
I love Beyoncé and her performances. Saw the I Am… Tour twice this year and they were incredible! Without a doubt she’s one of the best performers of the moment and people like Rihanna can’t keep up. I’d much rather than see Beyoncé this than a sub-par entertainer.

When Whitney was at her peak she was in categories with artists and legends such as Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, when actual music was nominated and dominated. When Whitney Houston earned her Grammy’s it meant something because the Grammy was music’s Oscar it meant you had made it. Today Grammy’s give out awards like it’s a stick of gum, if your name isn’t U2, Beyonce, John Legend, Alicia Keys you can forget it. So no we’re not bitter or jaded we just remember the times when “Album of The Year” and “Record Of The Year” went to memorable songs, standards in music. I know I personally won’t remember one Beyonce, Black Eyed Pea, Lady Gaga, or Taylor Swift song 20 years from now. But we all remember Whitney Houston’s songs #Imjustsayin!

Beyonce will probably use that beautiful voice of hers to perform “Halo”; it’s more Grammy-like and has the biggest chance to win I think; I would love to hear her sing “Once In a Lifetime” which is also nominated and is from the Cadillac Records soundtrack. As for the Oscars lip synching commment (@MORE TRUTH), Beyonce has perfomance after performance of live singing and dancing and you pick that one performance to criticize where she was doing ballroom songs & choreography at the same time that were of a completely foreign genre for her (as a newcomer to those types of performances I think she pulled it of nicely). What about her other Oscar performances where she sang beautifully or rendition of “At Last” for the first couple’s first dance. She sang those and countless other performances live. And all the comments about the Grammy noms are unfair since she earned those nominations for recordings on two albums, “I Am…” and “Cadillac Records Soundtrack.” Some of you are making uneducated comments and probably don’t even realize that she is nominated for a beautiful song like “Once In a Lifetime” from Cadillac Records (along with a nomination for her rendition of “At Last”). It’s not all about “Single Ladies” although it was a huge hit and deserves to at least be nominated if not win. “Halo” is a beautiful vocal performance and also deserves its nominations. Whitney can’t carry a tune anymore. Beyonce is clearly one of the best contemporary artists and in my opinion SHOULD have more nominations than artists like Lady Gaga or even Taylor Swift (I don’t hear anyone complaining about their multiple nominations.)
