With a striking voice and look to match, Cherri V has understandably drummed up quite the industry buzz. One which looks set to intensify, as her promotional push picks up steam.

A former member of Sony Music group Trinity Stone (with the Sugababes’ Jade Ewen), V has struck out on her own – boasting a sound which could easily see her as a fixture on charts of the Urban and Pop persuasions.

With many a live show on the horizon and a recording stint in the US forthcoming, you’ll, no doubt, be seeing and hearing a lot more from this bright new talent. For now, you can and hear her soar on this, the latest episode of The Splash!

Even though I love Kelly and the original song, I think that Cherri may have sung it better than Kelly. She has such a soulful voice and Greedy Eyes had some great lyrics. She’s really good.

She has a very beautiful, soulful voice… but of course this version is “sung” better because of the way she’s singing it. If Kelly slowed it down and sung Motivation with just a piano playing, hers would be more soulful too. Kelly has a much more powerful voice than Cherri, but Cherri did great.

Er…Sam, sorry, but “Motivation” was/IS – DE FACTO – a “Lil’ Wayne song”!

I haven’t really heard of/about this singer before, but SHE should have done the original – NOT KELLY ROWLAND..!!!!!

Oh, BTW, (before I forget..) “The 30-something-year-old Kelly Rowland score card: 77K – first week, 22k – second seek,16k – third week,11k – fourth week..

    That’ll be a (not so) Grand Total: (approx)126K – U.S. OTC sales *SPLAT* (womp-womp)..

(Again..) Kelly Rowland should NOT be included in the N. American “F.A.M.E” tour! If she’s NOT moving units in N.America, then how can we expect her to sell “F.A.M.E” tickets? She’ll prove herself a serious drag, if not a complete Buzz-Kill to that critical tour!

  5. Kelly is such a flop artist August 24, 2011

Damn 11k fourth week. Kelly is such a flop. Imma need Universal to drop her ass.

She did a great job! She can be a great Urban artist here in the States. 1st she needs to start off with getting rid of that tacky weave, low budget clothing & clown makeup & change her image to a more grown n s*** look then she has great potential to go far…. we need more talented r&b women like her in this industry.

Um yeah it was good but forgettable. My advice would be that she didn’t need to change it up too much like that. The song is completely wack without the beat. And no, I don’t think this was better than kelly’s. Lost the s** appeal. Oh and she’s pretty but that weave NO MA’AM…

I thoroughly enjoyed that. I actually think that i liked it better than Kelly’s version as it didn’t sound so strained.
