15-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys has certainly seen her ivory-tickling hands pen some of the century’s most memorable R&B hits. From ‘Fallin’ to ‘If I Ain’t Got You,’ the songstress’s prized writing has been honored and earned nods from everyone from the Grammy’s to ASCAP and BMI.
Most recently, Keys was invited by NPR to walk down memory lane regarding many of those hits. Detailing her writing process, she not only revealed the inspiration behind some of those numbers, but also shared encouraging words for up-and-coming songwriters.
Easily a “must see,” tuck in below to hear Keys chat it up about her catalogue:
Ok maybe if her mother says that shyt looks a mess, she’ll do something about it…
Amazing! Alicia has a beautiful spirit.
Maybe she should listen to those songs. FALLEN, LESSONS LEARNED, IF I AINT GOT YOU, DIARY….she was dripping in soul and passion. She has lost her way, and the record buying public ain’t feeling her
Meh
The Diary Of Alicia Keys is bomb *Blac Chyna voice* lol…so many good songs on there! Alicia’s at her best when her songs feel cozy and nostalgic, even after the first listen…You Don’t Know My Name, album version…MASTERPIECE.
She need to put some make up on like right now.
Soul is important but the body is as important too.
I mean i dont even want to know more about that story when i look at her greasy face and all …ugh
Alicia has a great discography that can never be denied.
Alicia is evolving into her true self.., the makeup will come back at some point but that’s not the issue. She’s walking without the trappings of fakery for a while so she can love her real self. I’ve done it myself and it’s an important and necessary milestone to true self-confidence. Once you can look in the mirror and feel good about yourself (at your most stripped) then really nothing can stop you.
Nice
Did this interviewer annoy anyone else? This is the epitome of trying to impress his interviewee …Just shut up and let the woman talk for god’s sake.
