Coachella Ticket Prices Sink Following Beyonce Departure

Published: Monday 27th Feb 2017 by David

Beyonce‘s departure from this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has spelled trouble with a capital T for its organisers.

Why now would be a good time to buy tickets if you haven’t already?

TGJ has the scoop below…

The artist, who is pregnant with twins, was forced to postpone her set at the festival until next year after being advised to do so by her medical team.

Alas, this has seen demand for the festival’s tickets slip and slide as interest in it dwindles.

‘The Hollywood Reporter’ explains…

The news caused an immediate dip in the price of Coachella tickets on the secondary market, according to TicketIQ, an event ticket search engine and aggregator that tracks ticket sales on the secondary and primary market.

Prices for Weekend 1 dropped 12 percent from an average price of $978 to $872 after the news hit that the Lemonade singer was bowing out of this year’s event. Tickets for the Weekend 2 dropped nearly 3 percent from an average price of $856 to $834.

Fans hoping to catch her live at the world’s most-profitable festival now have a year to prepare for it.

As for the organisers? They are now said to be scrambling to find an act to replace the ‘Love Drought’ creative.

Expect a name before March’s end.

  8. S****** Blonde February 27, 2017

But other reports say the opposite of this, so we shouldn’t believe that her departure had any effect on the festival tickets going up or down.

    • Weezy Tha Goat February 27, 2017

      Billboard confirmed it though.

      • S****** Blonde February 27, 2017

And TMZ reported this two days ago, they hardly, if ever wrong, Billboard in the other hand is payed by record labels, or the artist himself for favorable articles about them, are we supposed to believe that the most famous music festival right now is having problems to sell tickets because of Beyoncé?…C’mon now.

Also why is the Salvation Army even commenting about ticket prices? Their fav cancelled stadiums and stuggled to fill 9k arena’s. I mean even FlopGa sold out stadiums in the US LMFAOOO!!

    • Selena GGourmet February 27, 2017

      Lies..FlopGa will b playing basketball arenas…stadiums like 3-5.?

      • ??☕ February 27, 2017

Fact is she is still going to be performing in sold out stadiums she even had to add extra dates due to the demand. Stay mad with your 28373829 troll accounts and stupid illuminati theories .. yes I know you that pressed idiot who suffers from multiple personality disorder

Don’t worry, they don’t have to believe it. Critics, the general public, news channels, talk shows, and billboard does. They can believe whatever they want, but they can’t deny facts. There’s a reason why Beyoncé was grossing $6 million a night on a SOLD OUT stadium world tour and Rihanna was struggling to sell out arenas.

  10. 4u2see February 27, 2017

They went up on the ticket price after beyonce cancelled and there will be no refunds from the people who bought the tickets .

  11. LB February 28, 2017

TMZ is reporting the ticket prices actually increased and TMZ is rarely wrong.
