Melody Thornton‘s absence from the Pussycat Dolls’ reunion earlier this year certainly didn’t mean the powerhouse vocalist was sitting on the sidelines.
Instead, she had her eyes on a solo prize – a truth evidenced by the unveiling of ‘Lioness Eyes,’ her debut EP. Delivered Friday (August 7), the 7-song set comes as her first body of work since her introductory mixtape effort ‘P.O.Y.B.L.’
A collection of tunes inspired by the R&B sounds of yesteryear, look inside to take a trip down music’s memory lane with Melody:
This cover is sickening. Giving me 60’s classy vibes
The track and production are way louder than her voice on some of these songs. This wasn’t mixed to A1
The songs are well above average, and they all fit the theme. Is the sound a bit muffled though? That’s the only reason I wouldn’t buy it.
I’m not hating on other singers like everyone does on this website to the point it’s annoying BUT Janet Jackson has always “whispered” in her songs and the production always overshadowed her voice, yet she has a massive fan base (good for her not shading).
She sounds good. I like the ep. glad she’s stepping out on her own.
This was some straight unexpected 🔥🔥🔥! Yaaaassss Melody! I love it from start to finish 🥰
Have ALWAYS been rooting for her! POYBL was fire and so is this! She KILLED “PRAY FOR ME” and those western sounds my wooord. Loved it.
