Moments after Lady Gaga‘s 2013 album ‘ARTPOP’ was propelled to the top of iTunes Monday night (April 12), the LP’s creator has taken to social media to thank her ardent supporters for their dedication to the critically divisive project nearly 8 years after its release.
See her official statement inside:
As we reported here, ‘ARTPOP’ – thanks to renewed conversation ignited by one of its principal production contributors DJ White Shadow – is enjoying another lifeline on sales tallies, namely iTunes where it currently sits at #1.
What’s more, the singer’s fans (affectionately called #LittleMonsters) have banded together to sign a petition demanding Gaga’s label home, Interscope Records, release vaulted songs from the 7-year-old LP.
With the petition now sitting at over 35,000 signatures, news of the hoopla has reached the desk of Mother Monster. Taking to Twitter early Tuesday morning (April 13), look below to see how she responded.
YASSSS GAGA!!!
Imagine thanking people for making you richer when many are figuring out their next career move and struggling.
It wasn’t ahead of its time. It’s pure TRASH.
To who? Trash?
She sits on top of iTunes. #winning years after “it’s time” hoezzz
Lol! It really was trash though and so not ahead of it’s time. I love GaGa but this was the one time I felt that she finally got lost and didn’t know what to do next with all the hype that was now starting to fade away. This was definitely her most non-cohesive album to date and her most desperate era as an artist as well. She was pulling just about every antic there was just to stay afloat and to stay mentioned during this time in her career.
Very true because Katy was giving her a run for her money when she released Roar around Applause. Beyoncé self titled was an IMPACT among a few other albums at the time except this one. No hate or bias just pure facts. The album wasn’t and still isn’t worth mentioning compared to The Fame (Monster) era not even Born This Way level either 💯💯
Rubbish
That album got me through a tough time. Everytime I turned it on it was like a shot of energy. Definitely drug inspired lol.
It starts off exactly like a hit, and then you’re completely taken away for about an hour. Just a fun album to listen to at full volume ONLY 😊
Hope to see some of the songs from ARTPOP on the Chromatica tour setlist now!
This album just never clicked with me. Most of it grated on me.
Ahead of its time???????? 😂🤣😂 Bionic 2.0
Anyone can screech odd sounds over some crazy music 🤣
Despite the bs I did enjoy Do What You want with the R Kelly version
My boo Gaga. ❤️
