With the recently released deluxe edition of her debut album, ‘Dennis Daughter,’ making moves on digital and streaming outlets, Lola Brooke is looking to put even more steam behind the project by unveiling the official music video for its housed tune ‘Shelter Baby.’
“You know I look good as f-ck, don’t lie / Please, don’t run, better yet, hide,” she raps in the VisionBank-directed music video. “They be questioning Lo’, and I don’t know why / Better hand me my flowers every time you see a mic.”
Delivered just days after she unleashed another visual from the set, ‘Neighborhood Hero,’ hop inside to see how the fiery rapstress rocked the Reefa-produced track like only she can.
The ‘Baby’ video drop comes the same day the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to press to announce Brooke’s breakout hit, ‘Don’t Play with It,’ met their threshold for Platinum certification – meaning it’s sold the equivalence of 1 million units in the United States.
Released in 2021, the song rose to prominence as a Tik Tok sensation before eventually becoming her first charting hit on the Hot 100.
Now, it has the distinct honor of being her first Platinum-certified smash.
