Lil Durk is reportedly receiving more than just moral support from some of Hip-Hop’s biggest names as legal fees mount in his ongoing murder-for-hire trial.
Full story below.
Drake, Kanye West, 21 Savage and Lil Baby were just a few of the names shared by DJ Akademiks during a recent livestream.
He said West (also known as Ye) allegedly cut Durk a check for the amount of $250,000 while Drizzy reportedly contributed upwards of $1 million.
According to Akademiks, Savage, Lil Baby, and other unnamed artists are also contributing to the defense fund.
Durk’s legal team includes high-powered attorneys Brian Steel and Drew Findling, and their services undoubtedly come with a hefty price tag.
The prosecution is set to rest its case on Tuesday (September 1) or Wednesday (September 2); the defense will then present its counterarguments which could lead to the trial wrapping up as early as the end of this week.
As previously reported, Durk – on trial for federal charges stemming from his involvement in an alleged murder-for-hire plot – faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole if convicted.
