Oh Beyonce. She just won’t let them lessors be great.
Again, proving that pregnancy is little more than a few months of being heavier than usual, the megastar is already putting the wheels in motion for her 5th studio album. This according to hitmaker The-Dream, who she has reportedly enlisted for the project – the follow-up to this year’s ‘4’.

Speaking to AOL’s Boombox, Dream (real name Terius Nash) said of the 30 year old:
“She’s ready to work. She’s crazy! She never stops doing anything. I don’t know if [pregnancy] is going to slow her down. She’s just incredible with doing things, I don’t know how she’s going to do it, she’s just a maniac… in a good way.”
Say what we will about Mr Nash, he and King B are renown for making magic together (‘Single Ladies’, anyone?). As such, we certainly welcome his presence on her new project. A project we’re not altogether surprised is in the works. After all, Ms. Knowles’ work ethic is infallible.
Yet, in keeping it 100, the sales of ‘4’ are also likely a reason why a new album is being cooked up already. Indeed, while critically hailed and sonically cohesive, the set’s 956,000 sales to date are a far cry from the success Bey is used to. Not to mention the lack of any standout ‘hit’ single.
So, while the aforementioned will be skimmed over due this being “the album she got pregnant during”, Bey, her team, and the label, know the drill. The next project has to perform markedly better. As such, don’t be surprised if the material is altogether more radio-friendly than the stellar-yet-not-crafted-for-radio tracks ‘4’ had to offer. 15 years deep, Ms. Knowles-Carter knows the industry is a game that has to be played over and a certain way for continued success.

i heard ASIB is set to begin production around March which is reasonable if she’s due this month. I would’ve loved for them to treat the soundtrack like a major project f its own much like Madonna and Whitney did theirs and maybe a studio album pushed back to 2013 but looks like that won’t be the case. – no more premature videos (releasing video b4 song is released as a single)
-no more tribute to old artists. Enough of that
-no more random inspirations

This is exciting news. I for one can’t wait to see what direction Beyonce takes things on the next project. She’s never predictable and she’s always very ambitious musically. I love how ‘4”s footnotes for this era will seem to include words like underperforming, lackluster sales, no charting hit singles (reaching #1) and such – but don’t seem to credit her enough for having her most critically acclaimed album, or a #1 album in over 20 countries despite a month long leak and another platinum album 15 years into her career (longevity, anyone). I adore “4” and it’s my favorite work from Bey. I hope that artistically she continues to move forward and evovle. She’s the Queen/King for a reason!

I understand the catastrophic failure that was her latest LP was a shock to her ego but it will be alright no need to miss out on the first year with a child, much like her withering relevancy you never get those back.
I really don’t know if an album that sells 1,000,000 in 6 months without a single Top 10 hit can be considered a failure. If anything, it’s a testament to B’s star power that she could still achieve platinum status without any hits.

The-Dream???REALLY??He has given her way more flops than hits!!’Single Ladies’ (which is a horrible song to begin with) was CO-produced by The-Dream, he’s not solely responsible for its success.Besides, if it wasn’t Beyonce, the song would be a flop.Beyonce herself was the song’s one and only saving grace.Aside from that, The-Dream produced ‘RTW’ and ‘1+1’ and we know how well those went, while ‘BTINH’ and ‘Party’ who were the only moderate hits off of ‘4’ were not produced by him.So how exactly has The-Dream made magic with Beyonce?

Bey’s 4 album was great. (And I’m not a Bey fan). However, she was all over the place this album era. Unspaced singles put out every week. Non-radio friendly singles. New management and an unclear promotional theme? Yeah, Bey knows she needs another album in the mix.
The only thing that carried this era was her pregnancy. She didn’t get as much hype with 4 as she may have thought she would. All of her interviews and media attention has been because of the baby. Even though fans will SWEAR 4closure was a commercial success, it wasn’t. This era is officially over, and it didn’t make a big impression on the music scene.

I do not understand this blind ambition…especially in light of her success. I would think that the first year of her child’s life is more important than the studio or professional accolades but I suppose not.
