Bajan model Rihanna continues along the promotional trail for her ‘Rated R’ LP, most recently stopping by BET’s 106 & Park to perform new single ‘Hard’.
Getting the good out of the way first (I know…), Ms. Fenty certainly exuded a lot more swagger than I’ve seen from her before and the crowd were H-Y-P-E-D, which can only ever be a good thing for any live performance. That said, it came off as if she was performing at a local high-school talent show. In any case, some folk seem to like that, so…errr….more power to her?

Nice performance. She is getting much better. Her performance on the German popstar show was so amazing. I was really surprised at the big improvement in her vocals. Wish her the best!

Lol you guys are killing me, I enjoyed the performance! Chris browns albums are never the best as a body of the work but there are always a few stand out tracks, I hope this time around the material is better! I respect the fact that RiRi wants Chris to live his life and do well after everything!
People should stop getting mad when others address Rihanna’s lack of talent and that’s exactly what it should be called lack of talent. She gets by while performing and nothing else! She has mastered the art of using all the gimmicks she knows how when performing. Hard was funny on BET with that get up she had on and her performances on the Graman show basically she let the two singers and backtracking do 99.9 percent and on RR like I’ve said before, that song has epic quality but not with Rihanna.. She carries a tune as far as you can throw her and them notes if she could carry the tune would be out of this world but she cant cause it’s not in her to be a real singer! Her promo is only showing people what lack of talent she has… It’s not helping her, she is steady going down and think this is x-mas season when everyone should be up top and she should be #1 still but she continues to go down!
I think her performance was okay as with most performers. Most current day artists either lip sing or have a track do the work for them. Her voice is average, but obviously it is good enough to sell records and make profits. I wish people would get off the fact that she was abused, she most definately has been trying to move forward with her life. Bother her album and Chris Brown’s Album are okay with some stand out tracks, but I would not buy either one. They both have their imperfections and both still have growing to do as individual’s and as young adults. Unless you are perfect you should not cast a stone. He has taken responsibility for his part in all of the mess, and she has yet to admit any wrong doing. I am sure all that was being said about her by her camp and his camp are not all lies. All Islander women have tempers (I speak from personally knowing). We are all hot blooded and tend from time to time to act out . . . .I wish the both of them nothing but success!
She need to only release videos and singles and NEVER perform live. Period!

That was a good performance for that type of crowd (young). They obviously were feeling it, and liking the song since they were singing too. But I’m on to you Sam and Trent, when it’s a slow day post a Rihanna thread, sit back and laugh at the hateful comments people start throwing around. IT’S JUST MUSIC, not a debate on world peace.

My whole thing is that you say the same thing every time there’s a Rihanna post. She’s not talented, she can’t sing, blahblahblah. That’s all fine and good, everybody’s entitled to their opinion and I respect that. But damn, it gets repetitive.
She’s improving on the stage presence, slightly, with the crowd interaction, she’s barely ever done that before her albums started flopping lol. Coincidence?
For me, her improving is a bad thing.
As bad as it may sound, I actually am amused by how horrendous she is at performing live. If she is now improving to the point were she’s no longer entertainingly bad, but neither is she blowing me away with a great perfomance, she just becomes someone who is in the middle and who is boring to me. I may start to lose interest altogether.
I suspect the the people who consider this a great performance only think so in comparison to how she normally is, but if you compare this to any other pop singer out today who does a lot more than walk around, shake hands and look beautiful, this is still extremely mediocre.

Some people, including me, are just tired of people like Rihanna getting so much attention and popularity when she has such little talent. She has no stage presence, can barely sing or dance and has the nerve to say someone is coming for her pedestal. What pedestal? She doesn’t have one yet and at this rate, she won’t be getting one. There’s so many more talented singers that should be given a chance. Even Rihanna’s fans say things like she’s improving or getting better. They are gracious as fans but I don’t see or hear enough improvement, she’s been doing this long enough to step up by now if it’s ever going to happen. I don’t think so.

Somehow I got on this website while looking at Chris Brrown posts, so that is where my heart is, that is the kind of talent i respect. I too can’t watch her and think about how she has not owned up to having ANY part in that mess, and how she classified him as “that TYPE of person” who beats women – on national TV. And when I see her performing live up there, it leaves a bad taste. And, yeah, she just walks around too much. Its boring . And jeez – WHY NO OUTFIT?? I usually think her outifits are cool! This one wasn’t. A bore.
BUT I love the girl’s videos. Her team does a good job with those. She is a good piece of art in them. And I like her songs on radio. She sings raw. ! And perfection can be a bore too (Beyonce, yawn). Go nasty girl go! (but you will get yours in the end for betraying Chris).
