Trey Songz‘ sprung a surprise on fans October 2 when he revealed ‘Back Home,’ his first LP since 2017’s ‘Tremaine,’ would be released October 9 (as we reported here).

Led to chart battle on the heels of its title track and album cuts ‘Two Ways,’ ‘I Know a Love,’ ‘Circles,’ and ‘2020 Riots,’ the project marked a personal milestone for the 35-year-old heartthrob as it was his first ever to hit shelves without a Hot 100 charting single preceding it.

Unusual for the serial R&B hitmaker, the absence of a even a moderate mark on the tally may be representative of the lack of buzz surrounding the effort – a predicament which has now been reflected in industry analysts’ prediction for its first-week sales performance.

Just last week (as we reported here), Travis Scott sent BTS fans into a frenzy when his new song – ‘Franchise’ (featuring Young Thug and M.I.A.) – debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 and blocked what many thought would be the 4th week reign of the boy band’s explosive hit, ‘Dynamite.’

Making history for accumulating three #1 debuts in less than a year, Scott saw ‘Franchise’ powered to the top on the wings of a number of single combo deals including cassette, CD, and digital versions (some of which were priced at $.69).

The strategic marketing method – employed by a number of artists that premiered atop the Hot 100 this year – is often only applied to their respective tunes’ inaugural week figures, thereby being the reason many of those out-of-the-box hits plummet down the tally in their second frame of sales reporting.

Landing at #25 on this week chart proves Scott’s latest smash is no exception.

With nearly 77 million followers on the platform to her credit, it’s safe to say the breast-baring snaps caught their fair share of eyes as slip-up quickly went viral.

Fresh off of the release of their debut album, ‘The Album,’ Blackpink deliver two stunning performances on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core.’ 

The girls performed ‘Lovesick Girls’ where they nailed all of the instant iconic choreography that exists in the music video.

The girls then took swapped outfits from schoolgirl to an edgy sweater look to debut a brand-new rendition of their song ‘Pretty Savage.’ 

Blackpink have plenty to celebrate this week. Their first full-length album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 (as we reported here), making it the highest-charting album by an all-female group since Danity Kane’s ‘Welcome to the Dollhouse’ in 2008.
