Fans of ‘Fallin’ singer Alicia Keys have apparently fallen in love with the 15-time Grammy winner’s latest opus, ‘Here.’  For, as of time reporting, the project – launched on the backs of critically acclaimed numbers ‘Holy War,’ ‘Blended Family,’ and ‘In Common’ – has found it’s got something else in common with her previous releases:  the ability to look down on competition from the top of digital charts.

Talent and timing.

Lady Gaga is benefiting from both this week.

New album ‘Joanne’ is on-course to top the Billboard 200 with relatively impressive sales; a feat that surprised some given that it’s yet to yield a huge hit. [Lead offering ‘Perfect Illusion’ debuted and peaked at #15, quickly falling thereafter.]

Coming to the surprise of no one, Bruno Mars’ new single, ’24K Magic,’ has already sprung its magic on music lovers – a feat evidenced by his current tenure at the top of the iTunes USA charts (as of time reporting).

The retro/funk-inspired tune, which premiered last night, has been praised for being a sonic older sister to his signature hit ‘Uptown Funk.’  And, with a similarly funky Vegas-shot video – directed by Mars himself – we expect to see ‘Magic’ mirror the 2014 megahit’s success on the Billboard Hot 100.

But, as the ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ star gets settled on the iTunes throne, he’s joined in the top 10 by John Legend and Lady Gaga – both of whom released singles this week.  Curious to see where they landed?

Beyonce‘s ‘Lemonade’ success is proving to be no quick fizz.

A chart-topper upon release three weeks ago, the set has established itself as a consistent force – both on the streaming and sales front.

The latter has seen the LP sweep up another 155k in the most recent US tracking week; a number which rises to 220k when factoring in Sales-Plus-Streaming.

Next week is shaping up to be another winning window for the project commercially.
