When J. Cole announced the June 18th release of his ‘Born Sinner’ LP, many conceded chart defeat on his behalf given the “event” that will be the same-day arrival of Kanye West‘s ‘Yeezus’. For others, the parallel roll out of such major releases serves a victory for Hip-Hop. Whatever the stance, one question has remained: was the move deliberate?

Well, wonder no more. For, in a new interview with Billboard, Cole confirms that the move was indeed calculated. Find out why after the jump…

With but days remaining until Jessie J debuts new single ‘Wild’, the Essex-bred-belter has given fans a preview of what they can expect.

No stranger to controversy, Chris Brown will no doubt find himself at the center of fresh debate surrounding his use of an unreleased Aaliyah song.

As earlier reported, the stage blazer features the late singer on his new single ‘They Don’t Know’, which follows on from Urban hit ‘Fine China’. Both appear on C. Breezy’s forthcoming studio album ‘X’, which he has hailed a more marked return to R&B. And with Aaliyah occupying such a pronounced position within the genre, it’s a sure-fire way to elevate interest.

That said, we imagine the posthumous pairing will rustle a few feathers. After all, there remains uncertainty surrounding her family’s wishes for the vaulted material, as well as the fact arch-rival Drake had -up until now-been the main proprietor of bringing her music to a modern audience.

Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out!

Pop belter Jessie J is readying new single ‘Wild’ for release this Sunday and, in a bid to whip up heightened buzz for the cut, has unveiled its official artwork.

Boasting features that span the US to UK (see: Big Sean and Dizzee Rascal), the track ushers in the start of the 24-year-old’s  sophomore  album campaign. Its predecessor, ‘Who You Are’, was a multi-Platinum smash in the UK and etched J’s name and uncanny ability into the minds of the US mass.

Sign of whether The Voice UK coach can build on this solid foundation arrives in a matter of days.
