In epic credit to her handlers, Jennifer Hudson‘s star has shone brighter with each year since her Oscar winning turn in ‘Dreamgirls’ seven years ago.

Ironically, though, this has been in parallel to the unremarkable performance of not one, but two studio albums on the charts. The singer’s 2008’s self-titled managed to go Gold, yet it’s follow-up, 2011’s ‘I Remember Me’, failed to connect with listeners and to-date has only sold 370,000 in the US.  Hoping to right those wrongs, the great Clive Davis has taken the helm of Hudson’s third project.

As the music industry”s biggest calendar night, it”s only natural that the Grammy Awards spawns a number of events in its honour.One of the most notable this year was the Roc Nation Pre-Grammy Brunch, which online casino took place at Soho House, Los Angeles.

Of the many stars in attendance, Kelly Rowland and the Roc”s latest signee Kylie Minogue reportedly turned heads most.

After winning rave reviews for her portrayal of civil rights activist Betty Shabazz on Lifetime’s recent ‘Betty & Coretta’ (Angela Bassett), Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige found herself in Los Angeles this weekend being honored at the VIBE Impact Awards.

Joined by celebrities like Ciara, Future, Diddy, and more, the magazine toasted their own success of 20 years in print as well as to Mary’s two decade long career as well.

2013 is off to a rocky start for R&B bad boy Chris Brown.

After a highly publicized fisticuffs with fellow hitmaker Frank Ocean followed by subsequent accusations of probation violation stemming from ‘the incident’, now Brown has been involved in a crash that totaled the car seen above (not long after the snap was taken).

Much like his ‘Next To You’ co-star Justin Bieber‘s recent accident, Brown’s camp is saying the paparazzi is to blame.  Check out the full report below:
