As one of the pioneers of Contemporary R&B, SWV are often cited as the blueprint for the formula that is the urban girl group.

For, with their classics  ‘Weak‘ and ‘I’m So Into You‘ just as loved today as they were when they released, there is little doubt of the impact they have made Pop culture and R&B music alike.

Now, hours after the surfacing of their latest release ‘Cosign‘, the group have shared their thoughts on Destiny’s Child front woman Beyonce, who was just 11 when their hit ‘Right Here’ topped the charts.

Soulful crooner Frank Ocean emerged as one the year’s biggest breakout acts, striking quite the chord with critics and fans alike.

Interestingly, the singer-songwriter, who penned Beyonce ‘4’ favourite ‘I Miss You‘, has also caught the attention of the fashion world, posing in the latest issue of Men’s Vogue (L’Uomo Vogue) – who declare him “the best R&B lyricist since Prince”. Hmm.

With Jessie J confirmed as one of the coaches on the UK incarnation of The Voice, what better way to see what she’s in for than to pay a visit to the stage where it all started – ‘The Voice of Holland’.

Though a megahit in the US (and sold to many countries around the globe), the show’s title and format are actually of Dutch origin.

For all the “future fierce” Christina Aguilera promised her last LP ‘Bionic‘ would boast, the album has ironically been confined to the past. Just as well; as its below par sales, uneven material, and the general drama surrounding the singer at the time of its release, flung her once-flourishing career in the dumps.

However, this year saw the 30 year old stage quite the bounce-back with a judging role on season one of NBC’s runaway hit ‘The Voice’ and a guest slot on Maroon 5‘s chart smash ‘Moves Like Jagger’.

Capitalising on both, as well as the forthcoming season of The Voice, the one-time ‘Dirrty’ girl is reportedly prepping her comeback much sooner than expected.
