Her song ‘Countdown‘ sees Beyonce urge London to ‘speed it up’ and it seems that her wish is their command, for the UK has taken her latest album ‘4‘ to the #1 spot after just seven days.

Serving as her second #1 record in the country, ‘4’ received a gargantuan promotional push courtesy of the starlet’s headlining performance at this years ‘Glastonbury Festival’.

R&B force Usher proved he still knows how to set pulses racing with a sizzling headlining set at the Essence Music Festival yesterday in New Orleans.

The slot crowns what has been an action-packed year for the 32 year old, whose success with ‘OMG’, and ‘DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again’, has seen make quite the commercial comeback. Whether he’ll be able to maintain it with increased competition from the likes of Chris Brown, and that little trier Trey Songz, will be interesting to see.

Pop royal Janet Jackson is currently over here in London for the latest leg of her ‘Number Ones: Up, Close, & Personal Tour’. Taking a brief break from her 3-day residency at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, the diva stopped by ITV1’s Paul O’Grady Show.

There, the 45 year old (still hard to believe) plugged the trek, her new book ‘True You’, movies, and the like. She also reveals that the tour will be heading to Africa, Asia, as well as returning to the States – keeping her on the road into 2012.
