Can Katy Perry catch a break?

New single ‘Bon Appétit’ is in free-fall on iTunes and her name is tangled in a tussle about an alleged racial slur.

Last night’s MET Gala seemed like an opportunity to forget her troubles, have some festive fun, and embrace her position as co-chair of this year’s spectacle.

As part of her involvement with the star-studded event, she also took to the stage to perform.

Joined by Migos, the Pop starlet offered a rendition of ‘Appétit’ – however it was far from appetising.

Stiffly shuffling across the stage, the whole performance fell pancake flat and actually had us a little embarrassed for her. Especially during her interaction (if it can be called that) with the Rap group…

It appears her contemporaries weren’t the most enthused either. Peep J.Lo and Madonna below…

We’re still stuck on what this was supposed to be…

Do better. Be better.

It’s no secret that Donald Trump’s team has been having trouble booking an artist to perform at the inauguration. The president elect’s team has knocked on the doors of many A-list entertainers to only receive a slick stiff arm. But maybe they’ve found some salvation in British singer Rebecca Ferguson… with stipulations of course.

If you thought the ‘Suicide Squad’s grip on the top of the Billboard 200 was loosening, you thought wrong.  Despite earning some stiff competition from new releases from the likes of Rae Sremmurd and PARTYNEXTDOOR and top 10 mainstays Drake, Rihanna, and Adele, the film’s soundtrack is holding firm to the album chart’s #1 position.

Billboard reports:

The Suicide Squad soundtrack holds at No. 1 for a second week on the Billboard 200 chart…

Suicide Squad earned 93,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 18, according to Nielsen Music (down 49 percent), with 50,000 of that sum comprised of traditional album sales (down 61 percent).

Britney Spears fans are furious.

The singer unveiled the video for her new single ‘Make Me’ and it’s making waves for all the wrong reasons.

In today’s info-age, it became common-knowledge that the clip’s delay was caused by extensive re-edits. An explanation which confirmed itself when a racy version of the visual premiered just minutes after the official edit premiered.

The alternate vid, which was lensed by David LaChapelle, was unanimously hailed the better of the two. And now members of the star’s fanbase are angling for an official roll-out.

Drake continues to kill the competition on Billboard charts.

As if nabbing his sixth non-consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 wasn’t enoughis h (thanks to his hit ‘One Dance’), the singing-rapper sits tight on the perch of the Billboard 200 with its parent album ‘Views.’  Courtesy of some history-making streaming figures, Drizzy fends off the likes of Nick Jonas, Beyonce, Rihanna, and so many more to keep his seat atop the album charts.

While industry analysts anticipate his reign will come to an end next week due to some stiff competition form The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Drake’s streaming numbers have continued to keep him paces above the pack.  Until we get the final word on that, tuck in below to see where all of your favorites from today landed on this week’s refreshed Billboard 200:

Drake‘s latest album’s, ‘Views,’ will still be enjoying the view from the top of the Billboard 200 next week, according to reports.

Fending off stiff competition from the likes of country star Blake Shelton, the Canadian rapper’s biggest threat of dethronement came from ‘Dangerous Woman’ – the highly anticipated third album from Ariana Grande.

Featuring the top 10 hit ‘Dangerous Woman’ (the song) and guest appearances from Drake’s own ‘Young Money’ labelmates Lil’ Wayne and Nicki Minaj, it appears (as of time reporting) not even their help will be enough to help Grande maintain her #1 streak (as her first two projects – ‘My Everything’ and ‘Yours Truly’ both debuted atop the album charts).

She may have taken a tumble while in hot promotion of her sophomore album,  ‘Thank You,’ but now it appears Meghan Trainor has the fans to thank for ensuring the album didn’t take a similar tumble on charts.

Indeed, after a week of Apple exclusivity, the singer/songwriter’s set – which became widely available on May 13 – is on track for a moderate debut sales week due to stiff competition from the likes of chart titans Beyonce, Drake, and more.  But, with the assistance of hits ‘Me Too’ & ‘No,’ Trainor may be well on her way to leaving the two in her rearview to nab her second occupancy of the Billboard 200’s top spot.

How is ‘Thank You’ expected to fare in comparison to her ‘All About That Bass’-led debut album ‘Title’ and its 238,000 first week sales?  Find out below:
