R&B veteran Monica has confirmed that she will be welcoming ‘New Life‘ to the world later on this year. The proud mother of two made the announcement last night on USTREAM.

October 4th is the date set for the release of her latest LP ‘New Life’.
The follow up to the critically praised ‘Still Standing’ album, it will include production from long time friend and artist Missy Elliot as well as Polow Da Don. ’Life’ will mark the singer’s 7th studio studio effort and is expected to spawn a fresh single in no less than a month.

All she can do is sing slow songs and ballads. None and I do mean none of her Up tempo songs has ever done well and I do mean EVER DONE WELL!!!
Slow songs from start to finish bores me. I hope this new life of hers really has a heart that beats this time around cuz the slow songs kills.

@GASLICKMOUF… I have 3 words for u : THE FIRST NIGHT :It was her first SOLO No.1 and it was a mid-tempo with a really hip and cool vibe.Monica knows uptempos is not her lane, but you can’t say she’s never had a successful song that was not a ballad

I will definitely be buying this album. I loved Still Standing. I think with age, her voice has matured in a good way. It is more stronger and less pitchy. GAslickmouf Monica has had plenty of uptempo hits (The Boy Is Mine, The First Night, So Gone, Just Another Girl, I’ve Got To Have It, Like This and Like That, One of Them Days, etc).
I would not care if she did an album full of ballads, because her voice really shines on a slow tempo or ballad type track. I think some of

One of her first songs was uptempo “Don’t Take it Personal” and it did well! She also had a great collabo with Brandy “The Boy is Mine” which was not a ballad or a slow song. Monica can sing it all be she is not a ‘get crunk’ singer if that is what you meant.
