The 45th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Ceremony took place on Thursday night, honoring Pop music’s most influential masterminds.
Billed as the publishing equivalent to The Grammy Awards, this year’s event saw ‘Lazy Lover’ Ne-Yo awarded the ‘Hal David Starlight‘ award, for his contributions to the craft.
Pictured above with Hip Hop producer Swizz Beatz, the Compound executive was joined by his recently signed artist Adrienne Baillon, formerly of trio 3LW and later Disney’s ‘The Cheetah Girls‘.

I dont understand, why hasnt Mariah Carey got one of these? A singer who has written and produced all her music (besides the covers), her 17 number ones all her albums etc why aint she got one? :/ puzzled!

Mariah Carey did get one, back in 2005 or 2006. She definitly got one tho. Even tho 2005 or 2006 was a long enough wait. She should’ve been inducted in the early 90s after her christmas album came out.

This award was established some ten years ago to honour newcomers. Drake received it last year, I believe, and also Taylor Swift at some point a few years ago. Mariah never received this particular award (the beginning of her career predates this award) but she’ll most likely be inducted whenever she becomes eligible.

Its about dang time. He’s one helluva songwriter. Unlike beyonce. Why hasnt mariah, bryan michael cox or the dream havient been awarded this type of award. They all are one helluva songwriter to. Isiah Classic Food is available on kindle.

Swizz said some really respectful things about Ne-Yo at the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame Gala. Adrienne Bailon even mentioned that Ne-Yo is like a brother to her
