While we’ve already reported ‘Last Year Was Complicated,’ the sophomore solo effort from Nick Jonas, will fail to dethrone Drake‘s ‘Views’ from the top of the Billboard 200, the set still comes as somewhat of a victory for the former teen pop star.

Though lacking the out of the box hits afforded to his first outing, ‘Complicated’ – courtesy of moderate hits ‘Close,’ ‘Bacon,’ and ‘Under You’ – will not only lend Nick the highest debut of his solo career, but also his best debut sales.

Indeed, besting initial predictions of 60,000 SPS by a few thousand, tuck in below to see exactly where you’ll be able to find him on the refreshed Billboard 200 chart:

First Week Sales:  66,000 SPS (47,000 traditional sales)

Chart Position:  #2

Outselling Drizzy by nearly 20,000 traditional units, Jonas lacked the streaming power ‘Views’ is still enjoying some 7 weeks after its debut.  Moving an additional 121,000 copies SPS, ‘Views’ will remain unbothered from its Billboard 200 perch.

Check back later this week to find out where all of your other favorite music stars from today landed on the refreshed charts when we provide our full weekly rundown ‘TGJ Chart Check.’

    Not bad

Didn’t his last album do around 40k? He great at getting a few hits per Era, which makes him so far the White Jason Derulo. If he get a great producer behind him, not a top well known, but a great up and coming one, he could be a big deal. I’m surprised that I like a few of his songs. As for Drake, he’s not letting anyone pass, especially an album named after a drink.

This is one of the FEW albums that DIDN’T have better opening numbers than cAnti.

  4. Hur June 19, 2016

Boring album… Sounds like one long ass song from track 1 to track 12. Beyoncé needs her album on Spotify to easily take NuMbER 1 spot again!!!

    • Danzou June 20, 2016

Reading your comment was f****** boring sis.

  5. BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 June 19, 2016

Like flop flop flop! All the trolling her did for the gay community didn’t work! Besides those nostalgic “Jonas Brothers” fans be has left nobody is checking for him. He is boring and overrated just like Justin Bieber, One direction, and many more!

  6. Weezy Tha Goat/ Zayn is ? June 19, 2016

We call that a FLOP!! I guess pandering to the white gays didn’t pay off little Nicky.

    • Danzou June 20, 2016

Sis what’s your Facebook name I really want to see how ugly you are.

      • BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 June 20, 2016

        Crying ??????

  7. Selenator *Kills Them With Kindness* June 19, 2016

Wait so Nick sold 47,000 pure albums? The same as Fifth Harmony? How did Nick, with much less promo and no hits, manage to pull the same numbers as Fifth Harmony? Further proof that those girls are just all hype with fans that don’t exist outside of the internet. Nick will probably outsell them in a few weeks.

  9. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? June 19, 2016

Hmm…I thought it would’ve been higher since that mmf threesome s** scene he did for “Kingdom” coincidentally aired after the album’s released. But then again, I doubt anyone’s watching an AT&T original series on DirecTv.

    • HailBeysus June 20, 2016

Lol OMG I watch Kingdom lmao! But apparently people were in a uproar over how his gay character finally had an interaction with another man. People didn’t like the idea that it had to be through a date r*** like scenario.

      • ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? June 20, 2016

Yeah, I wasn’t shocked at how it happened. It was so disheartening and gruesome. I really want his character to get that old man back for what he did, though….and don’t even get me started on Christina’s r*pe scene with that s**-addicted therapist. Chile!!

  10. HailBeysus June 20, 2016

    Congrats for him….. I guess.

  11. HailBeysus June 20, 2016

“Yonce all on his mouth like liquor.” Lol! I love referring to her as “Yonce”.

      • HailBeysus June 20, 2016

Yes! Yonce all on their mouths like liquor like like liquor!!

A friend of mine told me that “Self-titled” should scan triple-platinum anytime soo. before October and I SCREAMED and HOLLERED! and the audacity of some of these white blogs trying to clock the album’s sales like it didn’t do over 5,000,000 worldwide. Bish, where? The hate is THICK with them.

      • toeknee June 20, 2016

Yessss @chile it definitely sold 5millon WW.

      • SMH June 20, 2016

Lol not according to Chart News.

    • SMH June 20, 2016

Ironic since hive members can’t seem to keep Rihanna out of their mouths.

  12. LB June 20, 2016

    Navy still talking about Beyonce?

    • SMH June 20, 2016

Hive still clinging to Rihanna to deflect from Drake piissing in the lemonade?

  13. toeknee June 20, 2016

I totally disagree with the album being boring. I really love the different but exciting sound he took with this album. Its is differnt & refreshing much like zayn’s (w/o the overtly sexual lyrics).
He really should have sold more but he targeted a one-sided audiences (gays). At least his singles sales like most of these new comers is good.

    • MusicLife June 20, 2016

I liked it way more than zayn album tbh. That being said it wasn’t super spectacular but it was good

  14. B_Roni June 20, 2016

Aiw so if Beyonce would have waited a week later she probably wouldn’t have had a number for lemonade. Streaming ain’t no joke. I wish she release a new video for sorry and promote it.

  15. Biting Truth June 20, 2016

People kill me acting like poor opening week numbers are good. Anything under 200k is bad. And 200k itself isn’t that impressive. This album has flopped out of the gate and probably won’t even sell Gold.

    • Mr.StLaurent June 20, 2016

Not many are doing 200+ first week

  16. XoMoDe June 20, 2016

I thought the Jonas’s supposed to be religious. Nick’s music, image, choice of acting roles and audience he panders to all come off as amoral. If he even goes to church, I would think that its elders wouldn’t be too pleased with how he’s choosing to present himself now.

  17. JOHNVIDAL June 20, 2016

It´s not bad at all. Pretty much what everybody does outside a few people. He had no real hit or anything so I´m surprised it did slightly better than his previous album.

  18. adelefan June 20, 2016

    Great album. I loved it
