my giiiiirlfriends are guest starring on #blackish airing tuesday, october 8! we haven’t all been together on camera since 2006. these are women i grew up with and love deeply and it was easy tap back into the magic of our chemistry and how much we love each other. it was giggles on top of giggles on top of giggles. girlfriends ran for 8 years and was important to so many people. being able to merge the worlds of @blackishabc and girlfriends was surreal for me and so much fun.
The news is sure to further speculation/demand for the long-anticipated ‘Girlfriends’ reunion movie, which creator Mara Brock Akil has expressed an interest in making – if the price is right.

I’ve never seen Black-ish because but I’m definitely checking this episode out! Damn I wish they’d do a movie together! I wouldn’t even have to be based on the “Girlfriends” TV. I love them together!

Hope they do a TV movie before they think about doing a new series give us a preview first of what would be to come.
That is not possible. Tracee is under exclusive tv series contract for her show Blackish. A movie is their only bet now.
This is a great way to spark anticipation for the new season of Black-ish. At this point Mara should take a more realistic asking price for the Girlfriends movie. It will be a hit and will revive demand for her that imploded with her marital controversy last year. But I guess by the time you pay her, the actresses and the director alone you’ve almost spent 50 million. It will be a hit on anticipation alone and if done well will triple that investment.
This is truly The Year of the Black Woman. What a time to be alive. Black Ariel. Black 007. What an overdue blessing!

Of all the throwback reunions going this for me is THE MOST EXCITING!!!! I cannot wait. Girlfriends literally walked me into my womanhood lol. Gahhhhhhh
Black-ish is good show & Girlfriends was a GREAT show! I miss these ladies sooooo much & was heartbroken when it ended. I cannot wait for this episode. As far as the movie is S** & the City was profitable & a success 3 years running than I know Girlfriends will be a blockbuster!!! A Girlfriends movie would bring so much joy to my heart & would be great to see what a true bond is between black woman & how we can have healthy friendships & communication. WE NEED THIS NOW.
