The shortlist for the Songwriters Hall Of Fame 2020 has been announced and comes bearing good news for Mariah Carey, The Neptunes, Outkast, and more.

In a statement made to press, organizers trumpeted the full list of talent in contention for induction in the coveted Hall.
Nominees become eligible after upon reaching the 20 year mark of writing songs.
Those up for entry into the Class Of 2020 are:
Performing Nominees: Mariah Carey, OutKast, The Neptunes, Patti Smith, Journey, Vince Gill, Gloria Estefan, the Isley Brothers, ex Eurythmics members Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, Mike Love, Bread’s David Gates and Steve Miller.
Non-Performing Solo Nominees: William “Mickey” Stevenson, Rick Nowels, Sonny Curtis, Jerry Fuller, Tony Macaulay, Bob McDill and Roger Nichols.
Non-Performing Songwriting Duo Nominees: Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, L. Russell Brown and the late Irwin Levine, and Kye Fleming and Dennis Morgan.
The Hall’s 51st annual Induction & Awards Gala takes place on June 11th 2020 in New York, where six finalists receive the much sought after honor. [Source]

SHOF will definitely induct The Neptune’s, OutKast as well as the hall has been on the hip hop vibe since 2017. I really think that Mariah has a strong bid for 2020 being that it will also make her 30th anniversary of her debut album and era. So the third time will be the charm. But to all the nominees congratulations on this honor and hopefully an induction.
