Hot 100: Beyonce Makes History as ‘Cuff It’ Rockets Into Top 10

Published: Monday 9th Jan 2023 by Sam

Beyonce has the world dancing with her blockbuster album ‘Renaissance.’ And the party continues into 2023 courtesy of her colossal hit ‘Cuff It.’

Full story below…

Affectionately christened ‘Cuff Hit’ by fans of the megastar, the bass-heavy bop has re-cements said status by achieving a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100.

For, this week the track – which was produced by Queen Bey, Nova Wav, Raphael Saadiq, The-Dream, and Morten Ristorp – climbed 28 spots to #10 – its highest placement to date on the coveted count.

‘Cuff It’ becomes the diva’s 21st top 10 on the Hot 100 as a soloist. She has 10 additional when factoring in Destiny’s Child.

Its ascend was fuelled by the following stats in the latest tracking frame:

  • 8.3 million streams
  • 55.8 million all-format radio audience
  • 3000 digital downloads

By nabbing her latest top 10, Beyonce joins an exclusive club of Black female performers to have scored over 20 top 10 hits on the Hot 100 over their respective careers. Peep the current tally:

Rihanna (32)
Mariah Carey (28)
Janet Jackson (27)
Whitney Houston (23)
Beyonce (21)
Nicki Minaj (21)

‘Cuff It’, which has peaked within the top 10 in multiple markets across the globe, has experienced quite the chart trajectory on home soil.

Premiering at #13 last August alongside the arrival of its parent LP, ‘Cuff It’ went on to go all sorts of viral on TikTok and maintained a pronounced omnipresence on the Hot 100 over several months as a result.

Following on the heels of ‘Renaissance’s chart-topping lead release ‘Break My Soul,’ ‘Cuff It’s win this week sees Beyonce score (at least) two top 10s from the same album for the first time since 2008’s ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ project. That LP yielded: ‘Single Ladies’ (#1), ‘If I Were A Boy’ (#3), ‘Halo’ (#5), and ‘Sweet Dreams’ (#10).

In the years that followed, Queen Bey ascended to higher heights by innovating as a visual artist and prioritized producing game-changing, critically-acclaimed bodies of work such as 2013’s ‘Beyonce’ and its follow-up ‘Lemonade.’ Both of which delivered unquestionable Hot 100 hits (including top 10s), but boasted a clear focus on the overall package.

With ‘Break My Soul’ and now ‘Cuff It,’ music’s reigning royal reminds that she’s still a formidable force on BOTH the single and album charts.

Iconic!

AND WATCH THE HATERS STILL CALL HER A FLOP! YOUR FAV HAS NEVER JUST DROPPED A LINK IN THE BIO FOR THE ALBUM WITH NO PROMO NO INTERVIEWS NO PERFORMANCES NO VIDEOS NO NOTHING AND 6 MONTHS LATER STILL HAVING TOP 10 HITS. Name one I’ll wait.

Tgj just stop. Y’all can post about this but can’t do anything about the disturbing comments on her daughter. F****** wow

  3. UHoesFunny January 9, 2023

So far she has had a #1 album on Billboard 200 with Renaissance.

Two top 10 singles on Billboard Hot 100 from Renaissance.

#1 single Break My Soul on Billboard Hot 100.

    Sold over 300k first week.

    All with zero music videos.
    All with zero promo.

    Renaissance was a SUCCESS.

Song is a bop! Could be #1 if she’d promote it. She used to be everywhere when an album’ out. I’m not saying do 20 interviews like the old days. But acknowledge your music, go live, show your face. It’s weird idc what anyone says!

it’s honestly so funny that break my chart didn’t last that long on the charts, a 2-week #1 single. Cuff it gonna last longer than break my flop despite not being #1.

    • True Tea January 9, 2023

Because “Break My Soul” was a fresh sound for Beyoncé and this alone made it popular. “Cuff It” is much better and sounds more like a Beyoncé record.

  8. Anthony January 9, 2023

    Yasss Queen. Cuff HIT indeed!

  9. AJ January 9, 2023

An amazing feat considering the album hasn’t spawned any music videos. That said, I don’t see any other standout/obvious single choices. The whole album is listenable but Cuff It stood out especially. It’ll be interesting to see if the album spawns visuals or more singles.

    • UHoesFunny January 9, 2023

      I beg to differ.

      Cuff It
      Alien Superstar
      Heated
      America Has A Problem

      All suited for strong singles.
      And she clearly has visuals.

But when will she release them, we may never know…

      • AJ January 9, 2023

        Heated could work.

But supposedly there’s an Act 2 (which is afrobeats) and Act 3 (which is R&B) so I don’t know if she’ll move on to them come summer in time for the tour.

    • Are You Kidding Me? January 9, 2023

All Up In Your Mind could be serviced to Pop Radio.

Summer Renaissance could be serviced to R&B radio.

Heated or Pure/Honey could be serviced to clubs.

Energy, Move, I’m That Girl are the only ones I see flopping.

Alien Superstar and Cozy could be either Pop Radio or R&B.

I’m surprised Church Girl hasn’t been sent to Urban Radio with a remix by a rapper…

Virgo’s Groove and Plastic Off the Sofa would do well on Blues/R&B/Late Night Slow Jams radio.

  10. Xtina January 9, 2023

Now imagine if this b**** actually released music videos 👀👀👀👀👀👀

No visuals!!! The power and audacity of this woman

  11. Keith January 9, 2023

Honestly,y’all, we not sick of the whole Renaissance era yet? Bring on ACT 2 and 3…

  12. Not today Satan January 9, 2023

    Demon lover.

  13. Howyoulikeit January 9, 2023

Church Girl was supposed to be a single as well

  14. Tito January 9, 2023

So she worked out a radio deal basically? Cause these aren’t streams or sales respectfully you have to pay for your song to be played and that’s anybody (no shade ) then when think about “break my soul” being #1 she had to throw out a dozen remixes and call a 100 names to get enough collective streams etc to do it (which is why it was short lived) I’m not throwing shots at her talent or the material but It’s interesting the moves you can make to seem more relevant on the charts then you actually are. Music is in a really sad state overall though and I’m not calling the album a flop but when you think about it from a music BUSINESS perspective maybe it’s not videos because she is an older artist while yes people would watch the budget for them is way too HIGH and her fan prefer to see her on Tour because they are old same way you would go see Anita baker or usher. Her tours produce the most money I wouldn’t be surprised if she made billionaire status this year the moves are smart but nevertheless smoke and mirrors 🪞

  15. stan January 10, 2023

i’m still confused as to why she’s not doing any promo for this album. this could’ve charted even higher.

  16. Yo January 10, 2023

Anti hero is back at number 1

  17. Diora Couture January 10, 2023

Ummmm… A song doesnt ROCKET to top 10 a whoe 6 months later. PERIODT.

  18. Cuff It January 11, 2023
