Camila Cabello fans, affectionately called #Camilizers, were undoubtedly excited and worried when the 22-year-old dropped her sophomore album, ‘Romance,’ last week (December 6).

The set – despite the singer’s onslaught of television, Web, and print promo in the months leading to its release – failed to garner a top 40 hit to precede it.  Beyond the monster success of her Shawn Mendes-duet ‘Senorita,’ which is included on the tracklist of ‘Romance’ but was originally featured on the deluxe edition of his self-titled third album, Cabello’s LP was believed by many to be released on the back of little buzz.

Peruse of iTunes charts around the globe, however, has seemingly canceled that presumption.

As of time reported, the effort has manged to hit #1 on the real-time sales tallies of the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, and over 45 other countries.  To add, it also sits at #1 on iTunes and Apple Music’s ‘Worldwide Album Sales’ charts.

Apparently an out-of-the-box success (even though industry analysts have yet to reveal their official predictions), Cabello is not resting on her laurels – a feat evidenced by her visit to ‘Ellen’ the day of the project’s release.  If you missed her stunning rendition of ‘Romance’ single ‘Living Proof,’ hop inside:

The Weeknd may be well on the way to another chart-topper if the commercial response to his latest duo of singles, ‘Blinding Lights’ and ‘Heartless,’ is anything to judge by.

As we reported here, the Grammy-winner (born Abel Tesfaye) unleashed the tracks with little warning last week.  Immediately greeted with acclaim from his devoted fans, the tunes quickly shot to the top of real time sales and streaming charts – positions they have maintained well into this week.

Following the release of an accompanying music video for ‘Heartless’ and the Mercedes Benz ad campaign featuring ‘Blinding Lights’ as its official theme, it’s pretty safe to say Tesfaye’s en route to kicking off one hell of an era.

‘Breathe Again’ beauty Toni Braxton has breathed new life into her timeless classic, ‘Unbreak My Heart,’ thanks to a stirring performance at Sunday’s American Music Awards (November 24).

Backed by a stringed orchestra, the diva’s dramatic, winter wonderland take on the Diane Warren-penned tune not only made her one of the night’s most talked about performers, but has also reignited interest in the song 23 years after its release.

P!nk‘s latest LP, ‘Hurts 2B Human,’ may have opened at #1 on the Billboard 200, but the songs lifted in its support have been hitting sour notes (to say the least) on the Billboard Hot 100.

Coming as her first album since 2003’s ‘Try This’ to see all of its singles miss the top 40 (to date), a change in tide may be coming thanks to assistance from popular Country star Chris Stapleton after the two performed the rousing ‘Human’ duet, ‘Love Me Anyway,’ at this year’s CMAs (November 13).

Having already cracked Country charts, the tune’s made it to #96 on the Hot 100 (as of time of this report).  However, a peruse at iTunes sales tallies over the last few days indicate the CMAs was just the venue to introduce the heartfelt number to the masses as its grip on the chart’s summit hasn’t loosened since Thursday morning (November 14).

Could P!nk be well on her way to the hit ‘Human’ needs?

If real-time sales and streaming charts are anything to judge by, Selena Gomez fans apparently couldn’t wait to get their hands on new music.

The elusive chanteuse – who spent most of the year putting the final touches on her yet-titled third studio effort – roared back onto the scene this week in grand fashion with not one, but two singles – ‘Lose You To Love Me’ and ‘Look at Her Now.’  Two feminist anthems that have had tongues wagging as their content all but points to the deterioration of her high profile relationship with Pop star Justin Bieber, the chatter has translated into success as a recent peruse of real-time tallies sees Gomez dominating the competition with the new tunes.

In 2006 (in Youtube’s infancy), one hit wonders Webstar and Young B almost cracked the Hot 100’s top 40 thanks to the viral dance craze associated with their tune, ‘Chicken Noodle Soup.’

Now, thanks to a reboot of sorts courtesy of BTS star j-Hope and singer Becky G, the song is poised to exceed its previous #45 peak.  Borrowing the cut’s chorus for their multilingual edition of ‘Chicken Noodle,’ Hope and G’s version – which features English, Korean, and Spanish lyrics – is a celebration of dance and embracing one’s heritage.  And, if its reign on iTunes and Youtube charts is anything to judge by, that celebration is one that’s resonating in a big way with listeners across the U.S.

Over the past few years modern classic R&B tunes like Monica‘s ‘So Gone,’ Ghost Down DJs’ ‘My Boo,’ and more have experienced a resurgence of sorts thanks to social media.  Now, Grammy-winning rapper DMX can add his name to the list of veteran acts seeing their songs resurrected in the Twitter era.

19 years after his hit, ‘What These B*tches Want’ (featuring Sisqo), dominated Urban airwaves, the Nokio (of Dru Hill)-produced cut is now the center of a viral challenge that celebrates Black women and the diversity of their hairstyles.  As fans remember, the song is an ode to the past loves of X’s life and famously lists them as:

There was Brenda, LaTisha, Linda, Felicia / Dawn, LeShaun, Ines, and Alicia / Teresa, Monica, Sharron, Nicki / Lisa, Veronica, Karen, Vicky / Cookie, well, I met her in a ice cream parlor / Tonya, Diane, Lori, and Carla / Marina, Selena, Katrina, Sabrina / About three Kims, LaToya, and Tina / Shelley, Bridget, Cathy, Rasheeda / Kelly, Nicole, Angel, Juanita / Stacy, Tracie, Rohna, and Ronda / Donna, Ulanda, Tawana, and Wanda.”

The challenge has its participants string together a collage of videos that highlight a different hairdo per name listed.  The comedic movement quickly caught fire on social media and, as a result, has introduced ‘Want’ to a new generation of music lovers.  See how inside:
