After just a few weeks on air, ‘BET Presents The Encore’ has proven to be appointment television.

Indeed, the show – which sees familiar faces from 90s and 00s bands form a supergroup – is already serving up addictive drama in earnest. 

Two of the names viewers have been showering with love are Shamari DeVoe (Blaque) and Nivea, the latter of whom is uniquely the only soloist in the mix.

Speaking with That Grape Juice‘s Shar Jossell, the singers spill about their motivations for taking part and spotlight 3LW’s Kiely Williams as having the “biggest ego.”

The Oscar winner takes on producer and screenwriting duties, while onboarding Nia DaCosta as director of this modern take on the franchise.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II leads in the role of visual artist Anthony McCoy. 

The impact of gentrification rocks the career and consequently the life he set up with his girlfriend Brianna (Teyonah Parris)  in Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood.

When he meets an elder native of the area who shares with him the blood-spilling history of the Candyman, he’s provided inspiration that takes him on a journey like never before.

After initially being delayed due to the global health crisis, ‘Candyman’ will be making a splash in theaters on August 27.

‘The Suicide Squad’ is back.

Directed by James Gunn, the sequel to 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad’ reassembles much of the original cast for an all-new adventure.

Viola Davis returns as Amanda Waller, while Idris Elba has joined the fold as a replacement for Will Smith. Initially, cast as the fresh face behind Smith’s Deadshot, Elba is now a new character named BloodSport.

Also in the mix are Margot Robbie, John Cena, Pete Davidson, and Sylvester Stallone.

Ahead of the film’s August 6 premiere in theaters (and on HBO Max), an extended trailer has been unleashed.

At writing, Wale and Chris Brown sit in the top 10 of real-time Rap iTunes tally with their latest joint single, ‘Angles’ (released June 18).

In an effort to ensure the OG Parker-produced bop (which features a prominent sample of Diddy and Usher‘s 2001 hit ‘I Need A Girl’) replicates such placement on Billboard charts, the duo have unveiled its official accompanying music video.

Directed by Daniel CZ, the clip shows the hitmaking twosome having fun in the sun poolside while admiring some female forms from every angle.

Megan Thee Stallion trots to yet another impressive entry on the Hot 100, this time courtesy of her latest hit ‘Thot Sh*t.’

The Lil Ju-produced cut, which premiered June 18, raced to the top of YouTube and Twitter’s trending tallies thanks to chatter around its political, Aube Perrie-directed music video.  Streaming on the video platform, when coupled with radio airplay, digital download, and other calculated streaming figures, spelled for a handsome #16 debut on this week’s Hot 100.

Here are the figures that powered it to its premiere position:

• Streaming: ≈18 million U.S. streams
