It’s been six months since Soca star Machel Montano & R&B diva Ashanti first introduced their Island-kissed hit, ‘The Road,’ to the masses, but now the duo are hoping to kiss the top of charts with the cut by introducing its long-awaited accompanying music video.
Having already topped iTunes charts across the globe upon its January release, ‘The Road’ – co-written by Ashanti, Montano, Jovan James and producer Travis World – took the duo on the road to Trinidad to film to shoot the clip.
“We made a conscious decision that we would shoot the video during the days of carnival at places that we would be, so the cameras just captured what was happening around us,” Machel explained. “You will see the colors, the cultural expression, the celebrations, and the diverse people involved in these activities and it looks like pure joy, unity, togetherness.”

Katy Perry may have ridden her ‘Prism’ hit ‘Dark Horse’ to the top of charts in 2014, but now it appears the Pop diva will have to ride to the bank to fork over some major coins after a Los Angeles jury found the song to be a blatant copyright infringement of some Christian artists’ tune.

16 minutes was all Lizzo (born Melissa Jefferson) needed to drop jaws during her debut performance on NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk’ concert series.

The 31-year-old’s been on a grueling promo schedule – one that’s seen her touch award shows, radio, TV, and more in support of the effort. The visit to NPR comes as no departure as she’s currently in the middle of rehearsals for the next leg of her ‘Cuz I Love You’ Stateside tour (click here to see dates).
In case you’re on the fence about why you should see her in concert, we’re sure the performance below will go ahead and push you toward Ticketmaster. Look inside to see what we mean:
The last year has probably seen the phrase ‘Vegas residency’ ride atop headlines more than ever before. After hitmakers Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lopez broke ground in Sin City to prove it to be a lucrative move for artists in and beyond their primes, the likes of Janet Jackson, Anita Baker, Drake, Cardi B, Christina Aguilera, and many more have followed suit.
Now, with her newest Billboard #1 hit in tow, R&B veteran Monica has shared news she too would like to join the ranks of artists bringing their brigade of hits to the Strip.
Taking to our friends at BUILD last week, the 38-year-old spoke on an array of topics including her new R&B chart-topper, ‘Commitment,’ publicized divorce from basket baller Shannon Brown, running her own independent label, and more. But, when quizzed on if she would ever consider doing Broadway (a la fellow R&B divas Toni Braxton, Michelle Williams, and ‘Boy is Mine’ co-star Brandy), Mo gave quite the surprising response.

Burgess – who recently visited Cohen’s BRAVO talk series, ‘Watch What Happens Live’ (as we reported here) – was on hand to promote his latest musical effort and forthcoming film and stage ventures when things got a little awkward after Andy quizzed him about his relationship with Eddie Murphy.
After a side eye, eye roll, and quick dismissal, the 40-year-old saw his name atop headlines for dissing the ‘WWHL’ host. Now, Burgess is going to Instagram to confirm his distaste for Cohen. Read inside:
