It’s that time of year again.

Hailed as one of the most important days on the Pop music calendar, all eyes are on who is up for coveted Moonmen at the show’s 35th instalment. Especially with MTV soldiering on with gender-neutral categories.

Pressure from human rights activists may have fueled the decision by Nicki Minaj to walk away from a reported 7-figure sum to perform at Saudi Arabia’s ‘Jeddah World Fest’ (as we reported here), but the same can’t be said for the likes of 50 Cent, Future, Chris Brown, and Pop royal Janet Jackson as the four are among the big stars readying show-stopping performances at the festival.

The website for the event, set for King Abdullah Sports Stadium on Thursday (July 18), sent the Web into a frenzy after it posted photos of the newly added acts.

Earlier this week industry insiders predicted that Daniel Caesar‘s studio set ‘Case Study 01‘ would move under 3,000 copies in pure sales (and around 20,000 units with streams) in its opening week.

Now, his final numbers are in and showcase the full extent of the damage his decision to condemn African-Americans (who made up the lion’s share of his fan base) has caused.

While industry critics and fans alike are crowning Madonna‘s latest music video, ‘God Control,’ as one of the most prolific of her 35+ year career, some aren’t exactly singing the Queen of Pop’s praises for the visual’s graphic depiction of gun violence.

Designed to advocate for gun control in the U.S., people like Parkland survivor and gun control activist Emma González admit they recognize the Jonas Akerlund-directed clip’s good intention but that hasn’t stopped their criticism.  Branding the video as ‘f*cked up’ and ‘horrible,’ her sentiment echoed that of Pulse nightclub shooting survivor Patience Carter (who labeled the clip ‘traumatic’ and ‘inaccurate’).

For over 30 years, Madonna has consistently used her platform to champion a number of causes – and at 60 she’s showing no signs of letting up.

The Pop queen just premiered the video for ‘God Control’ from chart-topping album ‘Madame X.’

While the song is very much a dancefloor jam, Madge drives in a politically-charged direction for its visual.

Directed by Jonas Akerlund, the cinematic clip spotlights gun violence and the singer’s belief in the need for reform.

She said of the vid:

“This is your wake up call. Gun violence disproportionately affects children, teenagers and the marginalized in our communities. Honor the victims and demand GUN CONTROL. NOW. Volunteer, stand up, donate, reach out. Wake up and insist on common-sense gun safety legislation. Innocent lives depend on it. Join me in supporting several organizations.”

Little Mix are leaving no stone unturned in the push for new single ‘Bounce Back.’

The fierce foursome’s latest stop was the London edition of ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’ – and they did not disappoint.

Dripping all sorts of swagu, the Pop quad showed up and showed out with their army of dancers.

In addition to being greeted with mixed reviews, Madonna‘s newest LP – ‘Madame X’ – has come as the first studio album of her 30+ year career to see all of its singles miss the Hot 100 entirely.  That, however, hasn’t stopped the Queen of Pop from pressing forward in its promotion.

Already beating the promo trail in Europe over the last week in its support (as we reported here), Madge is also still cranking out music videos for the set’s content – the latest to come as the accompanying clip for the Mike Dean and Mirwais-produced ‘God Control.’

A clear fan favorite from the album, the disco-tinged tune houses controversial and political lyrics but may be just what she needs to change the project’s fate.  Watch its teaser inside and let us know if you agree:

Expect to see Queen of Pop Madonna pop up over headlines galore over the coming days as she hits the promo trail to commemorate the release of her 14th studio album, ‘Madame X.’  Dropping in for radio, magazine, newspaper, television, and Web interviews, the 60-year-old diva has had segments air (today alone) in multiple countries on prime television spots including ‘The Today Show,’ ‘Graham Norton Show,’ and so many more.

The set – preceded by five singles – has not exactly been greeted with the buzz of its predecessors, but that hasn’t stopped the Pop icon from raising awareness on the project which, despite the absence of commercial fanfare for its singles, has been getting great reviews from esteemed music critics.  Some of that success is being reflected digitally as a number of reports – including from Madonna’s team (click here to see) – have indicated ‘Madame X’ debuted at #1 on the iTunes tallies of a number of countries (including the United States).

Curious to see her thoughts on the early success?  Look inside for a collage of her most recent interviews where she tackles topics such as ageism, sexism, her obsession with religious imagery, responding to reports she’s in love, being a ‘soccer mom,’ and so much more.

Little Mix have poured out a potent splash of sass in the form of their ‘Bounce Back’ video.

While the single skews playful, the ladies mean serious business with the release – which follows the rocky ‘LM5’ era.

Looking to put the drama (which included a split from Simon Cowell’s label) in rearview, the Pop quad have pulled out all the stops as they strive to deliver on the track’s title.

They tapped in-demand director Hannah Lux Davis to helm the colorful visual, which sees Jesy, Jade, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne swag all the way out.

Queen of Pop Madonna is royally under fire from critics – this time from sexual abuse victims and their supporters for what many are calling an ‘exaggerated use of analogies’ to rape.

Earlier this week the 60-year-old diva made headlines for a feature in the ‘New York Times’ magazine that saw her reflect over her illustrious career, including a recount of the leak of her 2015 album, ‘Rebel Heart’ (click here to read it).  To describe the helplessness she felt at the time, she likened the experience to being raped.

Now, just days after its publishing, she’s taken to Instagram to slam the publication and the very interviewer (Vanessa Grigoriadis) who wrote the article and claims…you guessed it…the experience with the journalist made her feel raped.
