Things appear to be going from bad to worse for struggling trio ‘Girlicious’. Ousting members, drug scandal, and poor chart performance, have come to characterise what was once-billed as the new Pussycat Dolls (not that that was ever saying much).

With their most recent effort ‘Maniac’ flopping on an epic scale (even tanking in their biggest market – Canada), the ladies will no doubt be hoping that new single ‘Drank’ sparks interest.

R&B singer Teairra Mari is fast becoming synonymous with ‘the girl who never gave up’. For, following a number of unsuccessful attempts at denting the singles chart, and an album that has been pushed several times over, Mari has announced yet another new single in the form of ‘Body’. With the 22 year old’s ‘At That Point’ album now being re-recorded in it’s entirety, it is currently unknown whether ‘Body’ is the lead single from her forthcoming mixtape ‘Point of No Return’ (due this month) or her 7-track EP ‘Sincerely Yours’ (due August).

Whatever the case, there seems to be no holding Ms. Mari back. Gotta love her hustle! That said, her label (Warner) seem to have quite deep pockets when it comes to this project. Just saying…

The R&B singer was backstage at the Essence Music Festival where she was engaged in an interview with Sound Savvy World and stated that the LP, which might feature a collaboration with John Legend, will have a “Stadium Soul” sound.
