Pop superstar Janet Jackson was awarded with the Best Supporting Actress award at the NAACP Awards yesterday for her role in Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married’. Check out her acceptance speech below:
She looked genuinely surprised to have won. Congratulations to her. Here’s hoping she achieves success with her new LP ‘Discipline’.

She really did look surprised as hell! Aw I love Janet she’s so gentle and genuine, her voice was shaking while she was announcing the Stevie Wonder thing. And I agree with the commenter above she is looking gorgeous but forget for her age she is just looking straight up fine period!
Won’t Jill Scott be pissed that she wasn’t nominated for this? Or has she won any awards for this film already? I mean on the behind the scenes things Jill looked like she was really getting into it and taking it really seriously and she was amazing in it. Janet seemed to do it more naturally and was equally as good.
Cannot wait to hear the new album Janet, its gonna be awesome!

actually, Jill was nominated for Best Actress for this movie but Jurnee Smollett (sp?) won that award for “The Debaters”. Janet won for Best SUPPORTING Actress. Yep, you can tell she was really surprised. She didn’t even have a speech prepared *LOL*
