Tamar Braxton is bringing the heat this Summer.
Having told her tale of ‘Love & War’ (with great commercial results), the youngest of the Braxton clan and expectant mother serves up ‘The One’ as the second single to be lifted from her sophomore album (also titled ‘Love & War’).
Though drawing on R&B’s go-to sample, Mtume’s ‘Juicy Fruit’, Ms. Braxton’s track manages to scorch on its own accord. Take a listen below…

Short, sweet, fun, and flirty, the cut comes at the aptest of times now that Summer is nigh. It really is a welcome shift from the “lyrical serious” its predecessor served up; a shift that reinforces Tamar’s musical versatility.
Easily a top-down, radio-on flavoured number, ‘One’ could very well head to that spot on the Urban charts, given its nostalgic, yet oh-so current flare. Put simply, it’s all sorts of a winner!

I would probably think it was hot if Keyshia COle didnt KILL IT with the Let it GO track.
KC went #1 on R&B charts and sold over 1.5 million albums with Let it Go as lead single.

I def think Tamar is earning her stripes in the music biz so far, with the success of her first single (which I love) but..this is the most overused sample ever. I wish people would stop using this sample. I know im gonna get bashed and get a bunch of thumbs down but I like Keyshia’s use of the sample a little more.
I like the song, but Tamar needs to step her live performances up. She’s so cocky when it comes to her talent, but has yet to impress me. She’s very boring onstage.
