It appears not even the combined star power of Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, and Miley Cyrus is potent enough to keep their collaborative effort, ‘Don’t Call Me Angel,’ afloat on the Hot 100.
After making a promising #13 debut on the tally last week (as we reported here), many assumed the tune – the lead single from the Grande-curated soundtrack of the 2019 ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot film – was well on its way to soaring into the top 10.
What a difference a week makes.
Despite moderate radio airplay and streaming figures proving to be ‘Angel’s saving grace, the tune’s digital sales have failed to meet hype or expectations since its September 13 unveiling. The sales decline is mirrored on the Hot 100 this week as the Max Martin-produced bop has plummeted out of the top 40.
