Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion are easily two of 2019’s most talked about breakout stars.  As such, it only seems fitting they’d combine their powers to really give fans something to talk about.

Calls for collaboration rose quickly after the two uploaded the first of multiple videos and photos to social media of them together depicted as real “gal pals.”  Their undeniable chemistry led fans and interviewers alike to question when and if they would ever join forces on a track.

Stallion, on hand at the 47th annual American Music Awards on Sunday (November 24), put the murmurs to rest when she confirmed her highly anticipated debut studio album will feature contributions from the ‘Truth Hurts’ beauty.

As predicted (click here to read more), Pop icon Celine Dion sees her name scribbled atop the Billboard 200 charts this week thanks to her new studio album, ‘Courage.’

Her first globally-released body of work since the passing of her longtime manager and husband Rene Angelil, the Columbia Records set – which comes as the fifth chart-topper of her career – was preceded to chart battle by three songs ‘Lying Down’, ‘Imperfections,’ and its title track.

JoJo recently signalled the launch of her fourth album cycle with the release of candid cut ‘Joanna.’

Though not a single, the track was warmly embraced by fans for its raw lyrical content and stunning vocals.

Jo showcases the latter in earnest in a newly live performance video of the song.

Stripped back, the acoustic incarnation of the song manages to mesmerise even more than the original.

Selena Gomez‘s highly anticipated return to stage, a career-spanning showing from Taylor Swift, and commemorative performance from Toni Braxton were undoubtedly among the draws that lured viewers into this year’s Ciara-hosted American Music Awards.

Yet, not even their combined star power (alongside stage-blazing performances from chart-toppers Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Lizzo, and more) were enough to save the 47th annual edition of the ceremony from its lowest ratings to date.

Billboard are holding true to their promise of overhauling the protocol attached to bundling music with merchandise.

With the marketplace rapidly evolving, artists and their teams have been tasked with finding innovative ways of getting music to the masses – and maximising profits.

Pairing music with merchandise has emerged as one means of achieving this, yet it hasn’t been without controversy. Most notably with Travis Scott‘s triumph over Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Queen’ thanks to sweater sales and DJ Khaled‘s outrage over a planned energy drink deal that was ultimately disallowed – thus denying him a #1.

These instances and countless others have caused for ample debate. Some have embraced merch bundles as simply reflecting the a shapeshifting marketplace; others (a la Minaj) have deemed it cheating.

To quell the flames, today has seen Billboard detail the changes that’ll come into play at the very start of 2020.
