Far removed is the R&B world from the ear splitting fangirl screams at the sight of new millennium boy band, B2K. Now, the mention of the one time heartthrobs induces jokes about member Raz-B‘s boy-who-cried-rape internet antics. The rest of the guys are still releasing music, albeit to no specific hurrah. But there are still a few artist from the old T.U.G. Entertainment roster making legitimate noise on the current music scene. The all girl response to B2K, collective TG4, was ultimately shelved by the label, but produced Amber Streeter, now known as Seven of fledgling female quartet Richgirl. The 24-year-old is a frequent collaborator, and apparent muse of R&B singer Chris Brown (see ‘She Ain’t You’, F.A.M.E, In My Zone series, etc.). 2011 also saw the reappearance of B2K’s resident rhymer Lil’ Fizz’s younger cousin Jhene.

With co-judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson already signed on and set for next season’s American Idol, fans and spectators alike eagerly anticipated news on singer/actress Jennifer Lopez‘s redo or departure.

That may be set to change.

Although the ‘If You Had My Love’ singer previously expressed uncertainty in her return, reports have surfaced that Lopez (who was paid $12 million for last season alone) will be making a ‘big announcement’ on the ‘Today Show’ tomorrow morning – possibly confirming her return to the show.  Read more on that story here.

And, while her previously stalled career has been given a new life (on the big screen, radio, and record shelves alike), one has to wonder if Jenny from the block was on the right track by considering giving the show one-go-round.

That Grape Juice wants to know:  Should J. Lo return to ‘Idol’?

With all the hysteria surrounding Cher Lloyd‘s ‘Swagger Jagger’, it’s hard to believe she’d yet to even perform the single. That all changed earlier today, when she and her troop of dancers took to the stage at T4 On The Beach in Weston Supermare, turning in the first live showing of the track.

How did she do? Check out the performance, along with its‘Turn My Swag On’ intro, below…

Long before Usher decided to jump on the Dance-Pop bandwagon, he was the undisputed Prince of R&B. Churning out hit after hit from the mid-90’s through the mid-00’s, Mr Raymond could do no wrong.

This week’s From The Vault comes in the form of one of his most underrated gems, the danceable, yet inspirational ‘Pop Ya Collar’.

Originally slated to be the first single from the crooner’s shelved LP, ‘All About U’ in the 2001, ‘Collar’ was a moderate hit in the U.S., yet was very successful in the UK where it peaked at #2 on the Official Singles Chart.

An up-tempo with an uplifting message urging people to be themselves, and do what’s best for them no matter what others might say, the sizzling track was the entertainer’s first time serving up a more Pop-oriented sound, a pattern he would most definitely repeat during the latter years of his career.

With the ‘Yeah!’ singer on the cusp of having one of his biggest hits in the form of David Guetta’s ‘Without You’ (on which he is featured), and with his Rev-Pop project on the way, it’s rather refreshing to journey back to a time when he didn’t have to sacrifice the essence of his sound in order to score high on the charts.

It appears that despite regularly serving up shockingly bad performances, there really is no stopping Jason Derulo. The Pop sensation has seen his latest effort ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ top charts in many a country – including right in the UK.

Hence, in further plugging the track (the first to be lifted from his ‘Future History’ LP) on this side of the pond, the 21 year old (…) took centre stage at T4 On The Beach a few moments ago.
