Chris Brown Confirms Rihanna ‘Friendship’

After months of shooting down the mounting rumors, Chris Brown has admitted that he and Rihanna are ‘close friends’. During a visit to Power 105.1’s Ed Lover Show, the teen star replied to a caller (as regards him and Rihanna):

“I wouldn’t say it’s technically dating, I would say it’s a very close friendship”. The caller replied: “Oh so y’all friends with benefits?” Chris cackles with laughter before replying: “Whatchu know about friends with benefits?

Like I’m sure many of you will be thinking, the host tells Chris to stop evading the question. Then again, what more confirmation does one need. Anyway, You can listen to the interview in its entierty by clicking here.

Nelly – ‘Stepped On My J’s (ft. JD & Ciara)’ Video

The video for Nelly’s latest single ‘Stepped On My J’s (ft. Jermaine Dupri & Ciara)’ premiered on BET just a few short hours ago. Though I think the video is pretty decent, especially considering how poor the song is(IMO), Ciara’s showing was definitely the highlight of the clip. Good stuff.

Timbaland Ties The Knot

Hit-maker Timbaland and his girlfriend, music exec Monique Idlett, have tied the knot, according to US Magazine:

The two wed — in their sweats! — in Virginia on Tuesday by a family pastor.

They are getting hitched again in a formal ceremony in Aruba on June 22.

The couple, who are based in Miami, welcomed a baby girl, Reign, last year. (He also has a son from a previous relationship.) He popped the question at Idlett’s baby shower.

Congratulations to Timbo and Monique.

New Song: Mariah Carey – ‘Bye Bye (Remix) (ft. Akon & Lil’ Wayne)’

It would appear there are two official remixes to Mariah Carey’s current single ‘Bye Bye’ ; some of you may remember the Jay-Z assisted version that surfaced around the time the single first dropped. Well now, this version, which features man of the moment Lil’ Wayne as well as Akon, is being touted as the official remix as too.

In any case, the track is pretty good; despite Mariah not laying down any new vocals and the instrumentation largely remaining, Akon surprisingly kinda adds a new spin on the song, while Lil’ Wayne’s contribute is welcome.

On a recent Youtube webisode, rapper Bow Wow takes aim at what he calls ‘The Hater’: Check out the vid below:

As I’m sure many of our regular visitors know, That Grape Juice expresses opinions rather than ‘hates’ – there’s a marked difference. Yes, ‘hating’ is a disease that needs to be stopped, however…

To answer Bow Wow’s question, perhaps if he stopped being so cocky – considering his music more often than not is wack IMO – then maybe the ‘hating’ would subside. Just a thought…

Ashanti’s Lines Up ‘Good Good’

Despite the Akon/Nelly assisted ‘Body On Me’ having been confirmed as the second single to be lifted from Ashanti’s ‘The Declaration’ LP, it is now being reported that the Jermaine Dupri produced ‘Good Good’ (which you can listen to above) will serve as her next official single (going for adds at radio June 16th). In the meanwhile, ‘Body On Me’ is slated to be one of two of Nelly’s follow-ups to current single ‘Party People’, the other being ‘Stepped On My J’s (ft. Ciara). {Source}

I’m really liking both tracks and, more so than that, the convergence between both Ashanti and Nelly’s projects.

In-Fighting Within Danity Kane?

Word has it all is not well within Danity Kane at present. Check out the report via The Las Vegas Review Journal below:

It wasn’t all sweetness and light Friday for Diddy’s girl group Danity Kane. Two members of the pop group got physical backstage at the Palms before their concert at The Pearl last night. The tension was still evident when the group arrived at Privé Las Vegas (Planet Hollywood Resort) for their after-party. Dawn Richards, Aundrea Fimbres and Shannon Bex stayed on one side of the VIP Booth while Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods sat on the other posing for pictures with fans.

Hmm. Here’s hoping there’s a quick resolve to the drama, if this is true. In the meanwhile, any guesses on who the fighting pair were?

Usher: "It’s Hard Staying Faithful To Tameka"

In a recent interview Usher admits that he finds it difficult staying faithful to his wife of eight months, Tameka. Check out the story below via Contact Music:

The singer married the stylist last September (07) and two months later she gave birth to their first child, Usher Raymond V.
And while Usher insists marriage and commitment have changed his life for the better, he admits monogamy doesn’t come naturally to him – and he has to fight his wandering eye.

The star tells Cosmopolitan magazine, “I’m good at making love, but I’m not good at being in love. It’s a conscious decision every day to love the person you’re with.”

Though I try to keep my commentary on his relationship with Tameka to a minimum, I can’t help but wonder (aloud) why he seems like he has to prove how much he loves her to everyone. Just a thought…
