Nicki Minaj took it back to her roots in more ways than one on tonight’s episode of ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ (June 27).

On hand to dish about her latest soon-to-be-hit ‘Megatron,’ the Rap diva officially confirmed her new album – the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Queen’ – is well on the way.  Careful not to divulge too much, Minaj did confirm she has a working title in mind for the project and will share more info soon.

Other highlights from the interview include a freestyle session that saw the Harajuku Barbie spit on the spot in a unique way and even invite Fallon to dinner at Red Lobster.  As super fans know, the Grammy nominee worked there as a waitress before catching her big break.

Talk about a match made in heaven!

Just days after R&B veteran Brandy announced the arrival of a new song with serially praised singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar (as we reported here), the cut’s surfaced courtesy of his new album, ‘Case Study 01.’

The set, released June 28, may also feature appearances from the likes of John Mayer, Pharrell Williams, and more, but it’s certainly his duet with B-Rocka that’s come as its most anticipated listen.  And, after a few seconds into the tune, we definitely see why.

BJ the Chicago Kid is making moves!

The singer/songwriter will unwrap his new album ‘1123′ on July 26th and is supported on the set by an eclectic list of creatives – including Anderson .Paak, Offset, J.I.D, Rick Ross, Afrojack, Danja, and Chance the Rapper. But make no mistake, it’s BJ who is very much the centre-piece of the hotly anticipated project.

It’s apt, then, that we quizzed him about the set when we saw him at the 2019 BET Awards!

There, he spoke to That Grape Juice about his creative journey, the music he’s been making, and his plans for the foreseeable.

Megan Thee Stallion aka the ‘H-Town Hottie’ landed in hot water recently when investigative Twitter users exposed resurfaced tweets of hers from 2012 that featured homophobic content.

Granted, the rapstress was only teenager at the time of the initial posting, but that did not stop some commenters from slamming her for using derogatory language including the slur “f*ggot.’

Fed up with the ongoing chatter, Meg took to Twitter today to clap back at detractors for bringing up the nearly 7-year-old infraction.  See what she said inside:

One-time BET Awards darling Nicki Minaj turned from friend to foe of the network after a disagreement related to an intern’s tweet about Cardi B‘s historic Grammy win at this year’s telecast (click here to read).

Opting to remove herself and Young Money team as performers from this year’s BET Experience roster as a result – which was headlined by Cardi – Minaj also was a no-show to the June 23rd awards ceremony despite being nominated.  As we reported here, this year’s showing may have featured show-stopping performances from the likes of Cardi, Offset, H.E.R., Mary J. Blige. And the ratings reflected – with the show pulling in over 12 million in combined viewership (having aired across 8 Viacom networks, including MTV and VH1).

The Harajuku Barbie sees things differently, though. And seems to be focussing on the number of folk who tuned in to the broadcast on BET specifically.  Read her fiery weigh in below:

Your thoughts?

When ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ took home the Reality Royalty honor at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards, the shade was thick. Not so much from viewers at home, but more so from the rival shows in the audience.

The eye-rolling and jaws ajar sparked many a clapback – including from franchise creator Mona Scott-Young.

That Grape Juice caught up with the TV veteran at the 2019 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards, where she spilled on why she wasn’t here for the jabs.

With Pride month upon us, Mona also explained the importance of telling the stories of LGBTQ cast members on her platform.
